What to expect

Herbstsend Münster 2026 brings funfair atmosphere to Schlossplatz again from 24 October to 1 November. For nine days, you can explore the big rides, children’s carousels and food stalls. Especially important for your planning: opening hours are significantly shorter on the final Sunday because of All Saints’ Day.

Herbstsend Münster 2026: Date and venue

The Send is Münster's major fair and traditionally takes place three times a year at Schlossplatz. The autumn edition 2026 starts on Saturday, 24 October, and ends on Sunday, 1 November. The spacious square is right by the palace and is easy to reach from the city centre. According to the city, around 162 showmen will be there this time. This makes a longer stroll worthwhile, even if you are not planning to visit just one ride.

Rides at Herbstsend Münster 2026

For the autumn edition, the city lists the “Airborne” propeller ride, among others. According to the operator, it reaches a height of 65 metres. There are also classic funfair attractions such as a ghost train, swing ride and Ferris wheel. 13 children's rides are announced for families. The line-up means the Send is suitable both for a leisurely stroll and for a visit with a taste for fast rides. The most reliable place to find a complete, up-to-date list of all attractions is the organiser.

Opening times: take special note of Allerheiligen

On opening Saturday, the site is open from 14 to 24; on the first Sunday, from 11 to 23. From Monday to Thursday, the funfair is open from 14 to 23 each day. On Friday, 30 October, and Saturday, 31 October, opening times are 14 to 24. On Sunday, 1 November, however, you should plan to visit the Send only from 18 to 22. This exception matters because the usual Sunday hours would be incorrect for Allerheiligen. You can also find the full daily opening times in the opening hours section for this event.

From candyfloss to the big Ferris wheel

There are plenty of stalls and food outlets among the rides. In the evening, the illuminated carousels create the typical Send atmosphere. You can plan your visit to suit yourself: first take a stroll around the site, then try a ride, and pause at one of the stalls in between. The city does not publish specific prices for individual rides or a general price guarantee in the information checked here, so expect prices to vary by attraction.

Getting to Schlossplatz without searching for parking

The city recommends travelling by bus, train or bicycle. Buses from Münster central station take about ten minutes to reach the stops near the Send. Suitable routes include lines 1 and 9 to “Schlossplatz”, as well as 11, 12, 13 and 22 to “Landgericht”. This is especially convenient on busy evenings. Check current connections before you set off, as timetables may change.

Safety and parking at Herbstsend 2026

For Herbstsend 2026, the city of Münster is doing away with the previous fencing and monitoring Schlossplatz with cameras. Bag checks may still be carried out as needed. You should leave larger rucksacks at home if possible; glass, weapons, knives and other dangerous objects, as well as dogs, bicycles and e-scooters, are not allowed on the grounds. Cannabis may not be consumed there either. Schlossplatz will be closed to parking from 18 October through 4 November 2026 for set-up and dismantling. This is based on the press release from the city of Münster dated 13 October 2026.
