How Kirmestermine.eu came about
It all started with a question every funfair fan knows: when and where is the next funfair? Finding the answer, however, was surprisingly difficult. The dates were scattered across town websites, Facebook groups, local newspapers and flyers in supermarkets. What’s more, the information was often out of date and sometimes even contradictory.
We’re keen funfair-goers ourselves. We love the smell of roasted almonds, the rumble of the roller coaster and the sea of lights once darkness falls. Even so, we kept missing fairs because nobody had collected all the dates in one place.
So we decided to do something about it ourselves. With Kirmestermine.eu, we’re building the calendar we’ve always wanted – one that spans national borders. That’s also why the website has the .eu domain ending. We also tell the stories behind the rides and the families who have often transported them around fairgrounds for generations.
Why funfair fans need all the funfair dates in one place
According to the Deutscher Schaustellerbund, there are around 10.000 fairs in Germany alone – from small village funfairs to huge events such as the Cranger Kirmes. There are also the kermises in Belgium and the Netherlands, the Fêtes foraines in France, the Schueberfouer in Luxembourg, the Kirtage in Austria and the Chilbis in Switzerland. Until now, however, visitors lacked a place where all funfair dates from across borders could come together.
So if you’re planning a trip, want to bring friends along or are looking for a particular ride, you need clear answers: what’s on, when and where, and what is there to experience? In border regions especially, the nearest funfair is often in a neighbouring country. That’s why we’re filling this gap with three connected features.

- Dates with locations
- Rides at each event
- Hotels near the funfair
- Regularly expanded and updated

- Profiles of roller coasters and classics
- Height, speed and G-forces at a glance
- History and showmen

What drives us
Seven countries, one calendar
Germany, Belgium, the Netherlands, France, Luxembourg, Austria and Switzerland: that’s why you’ll also find funfairs across the border here.
Everything connected
Dates, rides and news are all linked. So you can see straight away which attractions are at each fair.
Free for everyone
You don’t need to sign up or download an app. Kirmestermine.eu is open to everyone who enjoys strolling around the fairground.
Growing together
Every funfair reported makes the calendar more complete. We also welcome information from showmen and organisers.
All funfair dates in one calendar
For now, our database contains the first fairs and rides. The counters at the top show you live how many there are at any given moment. But our goal is bigger: we want to record thousands of funfair dates and attractions. That includes major fairs as well as the small Kermis just across the border.
We also link everything together. This lets you see at a glance which rides are at a fair. At the same time, each attraction’s page tells you where it will be set up next.
