Parchimer Martinimarkt 2026 takes place from 6 to 9 November at the fairground on Bergstraße. The town of Parchim has published important traffic and parking information for your visit. There will be temporary road closures and relocated bus stops, particularly around the fairground. Several large parking areas will also be available, and parking fees will be waived for a time during the fair at many municipal car parks.
According to the city, several roads around Martinimarkt will be closed to vehicle traffic during the event. These include Bergstraße, parts of Pestalozziweg, Friedhofsweg and Vogelsang, as well as other nearby roads. Some sections are already restricted for set-up. For safety reasons, traffic will also be prevented from passing along Bergstraße from Pestalozziweg to the access road to the residential blocks or the playground.
There are special access permits for local residents and authorised persons. These can be applied for in accordance with the city’s requirements. If you live near the fairground or use a garage there, you should check whether you need a permit. Visitors should not drive into the restricted areas.
The city lists the Meyenburger Straße car park, the North car park at Burgdamm and the South car park at Fischerdamm as parking options. It is important to note the difference in fees: from Friday, 6 November, 13 o’clock, until Tuesday, 10 November, 8 o’clock, you can park free of charge in the city car parks that are normally paid. The car park on Meyenburger Straße is expressly excluded and remains chargeable.
To avoid driving around in circles unnecessarily, the city recommends using its parking guidance system. The area around the site can get busy at weekends, as this is one of Mecklenburg’s largest fairs. So allow a little extra time.
Public transport is also affected. According to the city, the Friedhofsweg and Bergstraße bus stops will not be served until mid-November. The Ostring and Busbahnhof stops are available as alternatives. In addition, parking at the Busbahnhof car park will not be available from 6 November at 7 o’clock until and including 10 November. It is best to check your specific bus connection shortly before setting off.
The fair is open on Friday and Saturday from 14 to 24 o’clock, on Sunday from 11 to 21 o’clock and on Monday from 14 to 21 o’clock. On Friday at 17 o’clock, Mayor Dirk Flörke will officially open the market. The spectacular fireworks display is scheduled for Monday, 9 November, at 19 o’clock. It will be accompanied by music to mark the town’s anniversary. You can then visit the market until the funfair closes at 21 o’clock.
