Access and dates
A specially equipped gondola also allows wheelchair users to ride. Discuss the specific boarding arrangements with the staff in advance. You can find age and supervision rules, as well as prices, at the ride. Jupiter Ferris wheel is linked to Cranger Kirmes 2026. See the attractions overview for more observation rides.
The Jupiter Ferris wheel ride experience
The gondolas move gently around the wheel. Roman motifs and lighting define its facade. A wheelchair-accessible gondola and an optional audio guide add to the experience. You can press a button during the ride to hear additional information about the attraction.
The higher your gondola rises, the more of the fairground comes into view. From this perspective, paths, stalls and neighbouring rides take on a new arrangement. In the evening, the sea of lights changes the atmosphere. The ride is particularly suited to visitors who want to take their time enjoying the views.

Technology and gondola design
Jupiter Ferris wheel was built in 1993. It requires 24 metres of frontage and 20 metres of depth, with a power connection rating of 150 kilowatts. The manufacturer is Nauta-Bussink. Its 36 gondolas, each with eight seats, give a simultaneous capacity of 288 people; this does not indicate hourly capacity.
The gondola design allows for different configurations. The operator describes enclosed gondolas whose glass panels can be partly or fully removed if required. The number of seats per gondola remains the same. The version actually set up is therefore the one that matters for your visit.
History and set-up
In 2018, Jupiter Ferris wheel received new gondolas. As part of the conversion, the entire installation was recalculated in accordance with DIN EN 13814. The boarding platform and cladding were also refurbished. This modernisation should be distinguished from the original build year, 1993.
According to the operator, set-up takes one to two days, depending on the arrangements, and dismantling takes around eight hours. Special vehicles and a crane travel with the ride. The exact logistics are therefore just as much a part of this mobile Ferris wheel as the wheel itself on the fairground.
Timeline
Built in 1993. Fitted with semi-enclosed gondolas in 2018 and recalculated in accordance with DIN EN 13814 as part of the process. Set-up takes one to two days according to the operator.
