Montreux Riviera Noël 2026 offers new practical options for your Christmas market visit on Lake Geneva: the organiser has announced a RailAway offer for travelling by train, ticket sales for Santa’s House are now open, and a special boat trip offers views of the flying Santa. The three official announcements are dated 1 October, 15 September and 19 August 2026. This lets you plan your trip for 20 November to 24 December more easily.
According to an announcement dated 1 October, visitors travelling by public transport can benefit from a RailAway offer. The organiser is promoting up to 50 per cent off public transport travel, while quotas are available. It also mentions a 50 per cent discount on a package with a Riviera Noël mug, a hot drink and a pretzel. The offer applies during the Christmas market period, from 20 November to 24 December 2026.
Note the wording “up to”: not every connection or ticket will automatically be half price. So you should check the actual terms before booking. Montreux railway station is only a few minutes’ walk from the lakeside promenade. This makes travelling by train an attractive alternative to driving, especially for a day trip.
On 15 September, the organiser announced that ticket sales for the Maison du Père Noël had opened. Santa’s House is on Rochers-de-Naye, at an altitude of around 2.042 metres. You can get there by cog railway. At the top, families can visit Santa in a specially designed mountain setting. The train journey and the experience are not part of the free Christmas market visit on the promenade.
The organiser specifically notes that places are limited and visits must be booked for a time slot. If you plan to take this trip, it is worth reserving early. Check the train times and allow plenty of time for the outward and return journeys.
Another official announcement, dated 19 August, presents a special view of the famous air show: on board the historic Belle Époque ship “Vevey”, you can see the illuminated lakeside promenade from the water. The trip is offered as the Croisière du Père Noël Volant. The organiser particularly highlights the view of the flying sleigh and the coast decorated for winter.
This is an additional activity that must be booked separately. It does not replace the free Santa show on land. Whether you can combine the trip with your market visit depends on the dates offered and places available.
Entry to the Christmas market in Montreux itself is free. The mountain railway journey to Santa’s House and the boat trip have their own booking terms. The market stalls and food and drink outlets also have different opening hours. On 24 December, the market closes as early as 17 o’clock.
