Koale Kermis Ootmarsum 2026 has a special offer on Saturday, 7 November: the municipality of Dinkelland has announced a low-stimulation hour from 13:00 to 14:00. During this hour, lighting, music and other sensory stimuli will be reduced as much as possible. The offer is aimed especially at people who are sensitive to loud noises or bright lighting.
The Dutch municipality calls the initiative a “prikkelarm uurtje” (low-stimulation hour). It refers to a deliberately quieter time slot during the event. From 13:00 to 14:00 on Saturday, disruptive sensory impressions are to be limited as much as possible. The municipality wants to make it possible for as many people as possible to visit the funfair. The announcement does not give specific rules for each individual ride. So you should not expect a completely noise-free environment.
The offer is particularly useful if you or someone in your group is sensitive to noise, flashing lights or many simultaneous sensory impressions. You can plan your visit for this time slot. The official announcement does not specify which attractions, if any, will operate with restrictions during this time.
Koale Kermis runs from Friday, 6 November, to Sunday, 8 November 2026, in the historic centre of Ootmarsum. The official tourism calendar lists Friday from 10:00 to 23:00, regular Saturday opening times from 14:00 to 23:00, and Sunday from 12:00 to 23:00. However, the municipality's new announcement explicitly confirms the additional low-stimulation time slot on Saturday, from 13:00 to 14:00. This difference is important when planning your visit.
In our event overview for Koale Kermis, you will find the general opening times and the new programme item listed separately. This makes it clear which times have been published for regular funfair operations and when the special initiative takes place.
The event is considered one of the last open-air fairs of the season in the Twente region. A horse and small livestock market, as well as an agricultural machinery exhibition, are also scheduled for Friday morning at Kerkplein. These programme items are part of the traditional character of Koale Kermis. The tourism announcement does not give exact times for either market.
If you mainly want to enjoy the quieter atmosphere, Saturday between 13:00 and 14:00 is the time to visit. Before travelling, you may want to check the official announcement from the municipality of Dinkelland again. It explicitly confirms the special time slot.
