What to expect
Vredener Kirmes 2027: From 4 to 6 September 2027, Vreden will once again celebrate its large city-centre funfair. It starts on Saturday. The City of Vreden has officially confirmed the three festival days. It published the dates in its report for 2026. With rides, games stalls and food and drink, the fair is a highlight in the former Ahaus district. The specific line-up of rides for 2027 will be announced later.
Vreden Funfair 2027: Fairground and atmosphere
The funfair runs through Vreden town centre and is spread across several squares. In 2026, the rides were located, among other places, at Marktplatz and Domhof. Other funfair areas included Viehmarkt, Wüllener Straße and Ostendarper Straße. The exact new layout may change, so Marktplatz is a useful point of reference. However, not every ride has a fixed location for 2027 yet. You can explore the different sections on foot with friends or family.
Rides and showmen
The town usually lists more than 120 showmen. It also describes the funfair as the largest fair in the former Ahaus district. The 2026 edition included bumper cars, a Ferris wheel, Break Dance, Playball and children's rides, among others. All these examples apply only to 2026 and are not a commitment for 2027. Whether there will be any special new rides remains to be seen. We therefore do not list rides from previous years as current participants.
Food and family activities
A stroll also includes sweets, savoury funfair specialities and drinks. There are also game stalls, prize draws and other activities for families. Numerous sociable meeting places spring up in the town centre. The combination of modern rides and traditional market stalls characterises the Vreden funfair. In the evening, the lights of the rides create a special atmosphere. By contrast, it is often quieter in the mornings.
Vreden Funfair 2027: Dates and opening times
The city has confirmed the festival dates from 4 to 6 September 2027. However, it has not yet published a full daily schedule for 2027. In particular, some opening and closing times are missing. The publicly available announcements from previous years also do not list complete opening hours for every day. The hours are therefore hidden for now. Opening hours not yet published.
Heimatfest and special highlights
Traditionally, the funfair begins with a service at St. George’s Church. This is followed by the opening ceremony in the market square. At edition 2026, funfair hearts were handed out to children, followed by a Happy Hour. The fireworks display on Monday evening was also a well-known highlight. The city still needs to officially announce whether these activities will take place 2027 and, if so, at what times. We therefore do not list times from previous years as confirmed programme items.
