What to expect

Pflaumenkirmes 2027 is expected to take place from Friday, 17 September, to Monday, 20 September 2027 in Methler, a district of Kamen. The city of Kamen gives the third weekend in September as the annual date. Rides and food stalls turn Otto-Prein-Straße and the surrounding areas into a street funfair. No separate programme has yet been published for 2027. The opening times are provisional and based on the official information from 2026.

Pflaumenkirmes 2027 in Methler village centre

The traditional Pflaumenkirmes is organised by the city of Kamen. The funfair area is mainly around Otto-Prein-Straße and Germaniastraße. This keeps the event closely connected to the district of Methler. The roads are partially closed during set-up and the funfair. The site cannot therefore be used as a regular through route. The city will provide information about how to get there in due course.

Rides, games and food stalls

Kamen's funfairs feature a changing line-up of rides, children's attractions and stalls. For example, the Double Jump by Petter, the Twister by Deinert and bumper cars by Burghart were announced for Pflaumenkirmes 2026. The children's Funhouse Das große Krabbeln was also there at the time. These rides have not yet been confirmed for 2027. They are therefore not automatically listed here as part of the current line-up of rides. An official list of showmen for 2027 will be added later.

Pflaumenkirmes 2027: tradition and family activities

The funfair takes its name from a much-loved tradition: fresh plum cake was offered at the opening in previous years. The city mentions RV Wanderlust and other local participants in this connection. The Methler brass band also traditionally plays at the opening. The city still needs to confirm whether these participants will take part again in 2027. The combination of regional traditions and funfair rides gives the event its distinctive character.

Family day and fireworks in Methler

Monday is traditionally a special day. The city of Kamen announced reduced ride prices for this day in 2026. The previous edition also featured a fireworks display in the evening at around 20:30. It has not yet been decided whether these activities will take place, or at what time, on Monday, 20 September 2027. No specific programme items for 2027 have therefore been listed. You can check the latest information on the city's website later.

Opening times and free entry

For the 2026 edition, the city gave the opening times as 15 to 23 on Friday and 14:30 to 22 on each of the other three days. These times have been entered in the MEC calendar as provisional planning information. Opening times are provisional, as of 2026. They will be updated as soon as the city announces different times for 2027. Admission to the public funfair has been free in previous years. You pay separately for rides, games and food and drink.

Getting to Kamen-Methler and traffic

The site is in Methler village centre, between Otto-Prein-Straße and Germaniastraße. Sections of road are temporarily closed to through traffic during the funfair. In 2026, the city advised visitors to use the approach via Germaniastraße, while through traffic was not allowed through the site itself. Current road closure times and parking options for 2027 have not yet been published. Check the traffic information shortly before you travel.
