Castrop-Rauxel – Castroper Autumn Funfair 2027

Castroper Herbstkirmes 2027 officially takes place from 17 to 20 September 2027. The town of Castrop-Rauxel has already confirmed the dates for the old town. You can also look forward to a classic funfair atmosphere around the market square. Traditional rides and modern attractions have been part of the fair for many years. However, the specific line-up of rides for September 2027 has not yet been announced.

Castroper Autumn Funfair 2027 in the Old Town

The old town market square is the centrepiece of Castroper Herbstkirmes. From there, the market spreads across neighbouring areas of the historic town centre. The city holds three different funfairs each year. Alongside the spring funfair and the Henrichenburger Dorfkirmes, there is the autumn funfair on the third weekend in September. It is therefore a separate event with its own dates and line-up of rides.

Rides for children and thrill-seekers

Traditionally, the autumn funfair offers a mix of fast rides, family carousels, games and walk-through attractions. For the 2026 edition, the city announced, among other things, the Space X topspin ride. A Breakdance, bumper cars and various children’s carousels were also presented at the time. These were attractions from the previous year’s edition, not bookings for 2027. We therefore await a current list or specific announcements before assigning them.

Castroper Autumn Funfair 2027: Opening hours

The period from Friday, 17 September, to Monday, 20 September 2027 has been officially confirmed. No separate announcement has yet been made for the actual opening hours of the new edition. Last year, 2026, the funfair was open from Friday to Sunday from 14 to 22 each day. On Monday, however, it was open from 14 to 21. These times are currently provided as a provisional guide in the calendar. Opening hours provisional, as of 2026. Any new official opening times will replace these details.

Happy Monday and funfair tradition

A popular highlight in previous years was the family day on the last day of the funfair. On the so-called Happy Monday 2026, numerous showmen offered special prices, longer rides or free extra rounds. Walking acts were also part of the programme at the time. It has not yet been announced whether these offers will be available again on Monday, 20 September 2027. The city also points to a funfair tradition in Castrop-Rauxel dating back over 500 years.

Funfair treats and admission

Among the shops, various snack and confectionery stalls invite you to stop and enjoy a bite. In the previous edition, the offerings included roasted almonds, crêpes and classic hot dishes. There were also smaller food and drink spots near the market. As in previous years, admission to the funfair is free. You only pay for individual rides, games or food and drink. However, prices and special offers may change.

Getting there and parking in Castrop-Rauxel

The town centre is easy to reach by public transport. A footpath leads from Castrop-Rauxel Süd station to the old town. Access roads around the market square may be closed during the funfair. Among the affected areas, the town listed 2026 the Viehmarkt and Am Stadtgarten areas. Car parks and parking spaces outside the immediate festival area are possible alternatives. Check the information for 2027 before your visit.
