Gütersloh Whitsun Funfair 2027: Expected to run from Friday, 14 May, to Whit Monday, 17 May 2027, Gütersloh's Marktplatz will once again become a funfair. The date follows the traditional four-day Whitsun schedule. No separate official announcement for 2027 has been made yet. The timing therefore remains subject to change until the city publishes its announcement.

Gütersloh Whitsun Funfair 2027 at Marktplatz

Marktplatz, on Am Wochenmarkt, is a regular venue for the Whitsun funfair. For the event, the car park becomes an area filled with rides, game stalls and food and drink outlets. The site also borders the town centre, so you can combine your funfair visit with a stroll around town.

The City of Gütersloh confirmed the location, among other things, in its announcement about the Whitsun funfair 2026. Setup work usually begins before the event itself, with the car park being closed as a result. It is therefore a good idea to leave your car in another multi-storey or underground car park during the event.

Rides and family-friendly attractions

Visitors to the Whitsun funfair can typically expect classic carousels, rides for different age groups and stalls with skill games. There is plenty to enjoy food-wise too: sweets, snacks and other fairground treats offer a chance to take a break between rides. This makes for a varied afternoon, whether you get on the rides yourself or simply wander among the lights and stalls.

A confirmed list of showmen booked for 2027 is not yet available. We are therefore not listing any individual rides as confirmed bookings. The exact selection may differ from previous editions.

Gütersloh Whitsun Funfair 2027: Opening Times

The provisional dates are Friday, 14 May, to Monday, 17 May 2027. For now, we are using the publicly announced operating schedule for the 2026 edition for the times. The opening times are provisional as of 2026. The latest information from the city and organiser for 2027 will, of course, take precedence.

Opening, fireworks and other events

The Whitsun funfair 2026 included an official opening with celebratory gunfire and a short free-ride offer. Fireworks were also announced for Friday evening. It is not yet known whether these events will also take place in 2027. Therefore, neither fireworks nor specific times for a possible opening are listed as confirmed.

In previous years, a wine market was also held on the same weekend in the square in front of the theatre. However, the two events should be distinguished by location and organisation. A wine market for 2027 is therefore not automatically confirmed.

Admission and travel to the Whitsun funfair

The public funfair site has been free to enter in the past. Rides, games and food are paid for separately. You can take the bus to Gütersloh town centre, then walk to Marktplatz. If you are driving, the nearby public car parks are a better option than the site, which is occupied by rides.
