What to expect

Frankenberger Pfingstmarkt 2027: From Friday, 14 May to Tuesday, 18 May 2027, Wehrweide in Frankenberg an der Eder is expected to once again become a large fairground. The five-day period follows the traditional pattern, running from the Friday before Pentecost to the Tuesday after it. The city has yet to make an official announcement for the 2027 edition.

Frankenberger Whitsun Market 2027 at Wehrweide

The Whitsun market is one of the oldest and largest events in the North Hessian town. The large and small Wehrweide provide space for an extensive funfair, market stalls and food and drink. Parts of the event area also extend over neighbouring sites. The Whitsun market is therefore much more than a small fair around a single square.

The long-established fair combines a funfair, livestock show and convivial celebrations. The town of Frankenberg described the Whitsun market 2026 as its oldest and largest fair. At the same time, the programme caters for families, young people and older visitors. It is this blend of tradition and exciting rides that makes the event an appealing day trip.

Rides, market stalls and festival tent

At the Whitsun market 2026, the line-up included spectacular rides, children's rides and numerous food and drink stalls. There were also music events and parties in the festival tent and at Hessenscheune Aurelia. The district livestock show was also part of the festival programme. These are examples from 2026; the individual showmen and rides taking part in 2027 will only be announced with the new line-up of rides.

Between rides, you can explore the market stalls or get something to eat. Afterwards, you could visit the festival tent, for example, provided there is a public event there at that time. Some evening events may have separate admission charges. The specific terms for 2027 have not yet been confirmed.

Frankenberger Whitsun market 2027: Date and times

The planned dates are Friday, 14 May, to Tuesday, 18 May 2027. This period is based on the city's long-standing Whitsun schedule. Exact opening hours for all five days of edition 2027 have not yet been published. Therefore, no complete daily schedule has been added to the calendar yet.

Fireworks, parade and family day

The organisers' website announced a parade, a fireworks display, an animal show and a family day with reduced ride prices on Tuesday for the 2026 edition. Music and party nights were also on the programme. However, this does not provide specific times, performers or discounts for 2027. Individual programme items will therefore be added only after the official announcement.

Admission and travel to Wehrweide

General admission to the fairground is free, as has been the practice so far; rides and individual events in the festival tent may incur separate charges. The address for directions is Kleine Wehrweide 1D, 35066 Frankenberg (Eder). Please note that parking spaces on the Wehrweide may be unavailable during set-up and the fair.
