Frankfurt am Main – Frankfurter Spring Dippemess 2027

The Frankfurter Frühjahrs-Dippemess 2027 takes place from Friday, 19 March to Sunday, 11 April 2027 at the Festplatz am Ratsweg. Frankfurt’s official tourism portal has published this date for the spring edition. Over several weeks, the Dippemess offers you a classic funfair atmosphere, modern rides, activities for children and a wide range of food and drink. The Easter holidays also fall within the event period.

Frankfurter Frühjahrs-Dippemess 2027 at Ratsweg

Dippemess is one of the best-known fairs in the Rhine-Main region. The festival site is near the Eissporthalle at Bornheimer Hang. The event also has a long market tradition: its name recalls the Hessian clay pots, known as “Dippe”, that were once traded here. Today, rides, stalls and food stands shape the fair. The spring Dippemess is a separate edition and should not be confused with the separate autumn Dippemess.

Rides and family fun

Traditionally, you can expect larger rides, roller coasters, a Ferris wheel, classic round rides and attractions for small children. Which specific rides will be there in March and April 2027 has not yet been officially announced. We therefore do not list previous appearances as confirmed line-ups of rides for 2027. You can still look forward to the usual mix of fast rides, games, sweets and savoury food. The selection will be updated once the current site plan is available.

Frankfurter Frühjahrs-Dippemess 2027: Opening times and closed days

Opening hours are provisional, as of 2026. For the last spring edition, the Frankfurt tourist association published a weekly schedule with Monday as the closing day and different hours for Friday, Saturday and Sunday. There were also special arrangements for Good Friday and Easter. These previous-year arrangements have been adapted as a planning guide for the Easter holidays 2027. Good Friday, 26 March, and the regular Mondays, 22 March and 5 April, will therefore provisionally be closed; Easter Monday is an exception. The final 2027 opening arrangements may differ.

Knirpse-Kirmes instead of fireworks

The official 2027 event page announces the Knirpse-Kirmes for children up to the age of twelve every Tuesday from 15 to 20. This lets you take advantage of discounted offers and family-friendly activities. However, according to the organiser, fireworks are currently not possible because the new swimming pool next door imposes restrictions. Therefore, no historical fireworks date for 2027 is carried over.

Admission, travel and further information

Entry to the public Dippemess fairground has been free so far; rides, food and drinks cost extra. Travelling by public transport is particularly advisable, as there are few regular parking spaces in the immediate vicinity. The Eissporthalle/Festplatz stop, served by U7, tram line 12 and several bus routes, is right next to the fairground. Please also note that dogs are not allowed, except assistance dogs.
