Zeteler Markt 2026: Behind-the-scenes tour, road closures and livestock market requirements

The Zeteler Markt backstage tour is taking place again in 2026: On Market Monday, 9 November, showmen will show you what goes on behind the scenes at the fair from 14 until around 15:30. The municipality of Zetel has also published traffic regulations and information about the livestock market. Here is a quick summary.

Zeteler Markt backstage tour: What to expect

The tour is led by showmen's representatives, with the municipality's market committee also taking part. For example, you will find out what a large ride looks like inside and how it is powered. You will also learn how roasted almonds are made and how a roller coaster works. The showmen will also talk about their everyday lives, such as travelling from one fairground to another and their children's schooling.

The organisers plan the route in advance using the site map. However, they are happy to accommodate the group's wishes during the tour. At each ride, there will be someone on hand to talk about the technology, logistics and costs. To finish, there will be a small discussion over coffee and Berlin doughnuts, where your suggestions are welcome too.

How to take part in the Zeteler Markt backstage tour

There are 20 places available, and you must be at least 18 years old to take part. Places will be drawn among everyone who answers a competition question correctly. The question is which ride is returning to the market for the first time after a long break. The options are the Ferris wheel, caterpillar ride and horse carousel.

Send your answer, along with your telephone number or email address, to the Bürgerbüro of the municipality of Zetel, Ohrbült 1, 26340 Zetel, or email eilers@zetel.de. The closing date is Friday, 6 November 2026, at 11. The municipality will then notify the winners by email or telephone.

Road closures and bus stops around the market

As every year, the town centre will be closed in stages. Markthamm will be closed from 8 on Saturday, 31 October. Next, Neuenburger Straße will be closed from 6 on Tuesday, 3 November. Finally, Ohrbült will be closed from 6 on Wednesday, 4 November. Diversions will be signposted, and the public order office will enforce parking restrictions along the routes.

If you are travelling by bus, you should also note the following: The ZOB stop by Bistro Eurasien on Neuenburger Straße will be closed from 31 October through 13 November. Buses will stop at the monument on Dammstraße instead. Only route 251 between Varel and Wilhelmshaven will use a temporary stop on Bahnhofstraße.

Livestock market on 11 November subject to restrictions

The traditional livestock market will take place on Wednesday, 11 November. However, in view of the current animal disease situation, the municipality has imposed special restrictions under the Livestock Traffic Regulations. The municipality has published a document with the exact requirements on its website.
