Top Scan Poseidons Rache by Pourrier is a Dutch Mondial Top Scan that appears at French fairgrounds with a spectacular combination of swinging arms and spinning gondolas. Even its wide-reaching structure sets it apart from traditional circular rides. From a distance, it almost looks like a giant star, whose arms keep moving riders into new positions.

What a ride on Top Scan Poseidons Rache is like

On the Top Scan, guests sit in gondolas at the ends of a star-shaped structure. As the central cross moves, the gondolas change their orientation, creating a series of different directions of movement. The ride is all about this interplay: one phase may feel like a large circular motion, followed shortly by a noticeable change in body position. This ride is therefore suited to people looking for intense rides with several layers of movement.

The name Poseidons Rache evokes the world of the sea and gives this technical ride its own character. Watching it from outside is particularly appealing, as its sequence of movements cannot be reduced to a simple swing. Its striking structure is one of the features that makes a Top Scan instantly recognisable at a funfair.

History of Top Scan Poseidons Rache

The ride was built by manufacturer Mondial Rides in 1997. It initially travelled with Ahrend & Clare in Germany, followed by Schäfer. From 2002 to 2005, the ride was located at Adventureland in New York. It then returned to Germany and was operated by Köhrmann from 2006 to 2011. Since 2012, it has belonged to the French showman's business Pourrier.

Top Scan Poseidons Rache has had an unusual career spanning European touring, an American theme park and a return to travelling fairs. This makes Poseidons Rache a special example of the history of transportable large rides. It was not replaced by some other Top Scan model with the same name; its manufacturer, year of construction and documented operators make it possible to trace it as the same physical structure. In France, it is part of the scene at major fairs in the north of the country, among other places.

Who is Poseidons Rache for?

This ride is primarily aimed at experienced funfair visitors who enjoy rapid changes of direction and intense rotation. If you are looking for a gentle ride with a view, you would be better off on a Ferris wheel. The Top Scan focuses on the immediate sensation of the ride. The seats move through space with the arms, while the gondolas perform additional movements.

Before boarding, you should check the safety rules and height requirements in force at the venue. They are essential for a safe ride. You can find other intense rides in the attraction directory.
