20 gondolas, the characteristic wave-like ride and a history under the former name Hot Love Express.

Musik Express Welte-Noack: The ride experience

You get into one of the gondolas and travel around a circular track with a series of hills and dips. The ups and downs create the characteristic momentum of a mountain-and-valley ride. Music accompanies the rhythm as the gondolas move over the waves one after another. Many visitors particularly enjoy this combination: the movement is clearly noticeable, but the appeal does not come from extreme heights or inversions.

The Musik Express is one of the classic rides that generations of funfair visitors know. Even so, each individual ride has its own design. For Welte-Noack, the historical development, the operator families and the former name are particularly interesting. If you compare rides like these, it is worth looking at the shape of the gondolas, the façade and the design of the track.

Technology and space requirements

Publicly available ride directories list 20 gondolas, each with three seats. When fully occupied, this makes 60 seats per ride. One specialist website gives the year of construction as 1979, a space requirement of around 19 by 17 metres and a power connection of approximately 60 kilowatts. The manufacturer attribution is inconsistent across the sources reviewed: one history names Mack, while another directory lists Cosmont. Until this discrepancy is resolved using a reliable primary source, no manufacturer is listed as confirmed.

Musik Express Welte-Noack: Name and operator changes

Musik Express Welte-Noack is also documented under its former name, Hot Love Express. Specialist overviews name Dorenkamp as the former operator and later link the attraction to the Welte-Noack showman business in Detmold. Sources differ on the exact years of the handovers, so these should not be presented as a complete ownership history without further verification. It is important to distinguish it from the other Musik Express attractions run by the Noack families: their construction years, manufacturers and touring routes differ in some cases.

Tips for funfair visitors

If you are riding it for the first time, you can first watch from the outside to see how quickly the gondolas move through the undulations. An evening ride is especially appealing if you enjoy lights and music. Before boarding, check the current information on minimum height, accompanying adults and seating position. These rules apply to this specific ride and are not taken from similar attractions.
