Highlights & records

Mack two-column scooter with Reverchon Ninja cars; a well-established regional disco scooter run by the Haas family.

With Number 1 by Haas, you control the ride yourself – and the spontaneous encounters with other cars are what make this classic special.

Disco-Skooter Number 1: The ride experience

You sit at the wheel of the bumper car. You can accelerate, change direction and try to weave between the other cars. The encounters on the track are what make it fun: sometimes you find a clear path, and sometimes your ride ends in a harmless collision with friends.

Disco-Skooter gets its appeal from its mix of movement and fairground atmosphere. You hear the music, see the other cars and are right in the middle of the action. A ride with friends always brings new situations. Unlike a roller coaster, the same sequence does not repeat on every circuit.

History of Haas’s Disco-Skooter Number 1

The manufacturer Mack built Number 1 as a two-column scooter. This design supports the roof over the track with two central columns. The cars on the track are Reverchon Ninja models. This ride therefore combines a Mack scooter pavilion with vehicles made by another manufacturer.

The Haas family operates several showman’s attractions in Karlsruhe. Industry directories list Number 1 under Fritz Haas and Ariane Haas. Its long-standing presence at regional fairgrounds is well documented. Local newspapers reported as early as 2022 on a backstage tour at the Karlsruher Mess’. Ariane Haas-Bruch explained how to drive the disco scooter to the participants.

For visitors, this combination of a family business and a familiar ride is part of its charm. This is not a modern high-thrill ride, but a place where you are in control of your own ride experience.

Timeline

Documented at Haas under the name Number 1 Disco Scooter since at least 2006. A long-standing regular at the Karlsruher Mess’; backstage tour with Ariane Haas-Bruch in June 2022.
