The history of Caraïbes Folies Besanger
Funhouses have been classics among walk-through attractions at Belgian funfairs for decades. Recent Belgian trade lists name Victor Besanger as the operator of Caraïbes Folies. Older reports sometimes give different operator details. It is unclear whether they refer to the same attraction. The manufacturer and year of construction have not yet been publicly documented.
Timeline
- The predecessor (Caraïbes Folies I, built in 1994) burned down completely in 1997. During the reconstruction or new build in 1998, the Roman numeral II was added to the back of the attraction
- Modernisations: In 2015, a distinctive additional tower was added to the left side of the walk-through attraction, moving the slide noticeably further forward. At the same time, the right-hand side of the frontage was made slightly shorter.
