Ninove – Carnival funfair 2027

The Carnavalskermis Ninove 2027 is expected to run from Friday, 12 February, to Tuesday, 16 February 2027, based on the official annual rule. Shrove Sunday is confirmed as 14 February; the funfair traditionally runs from the Friday before until the following Tuesday. Another funfair calendar, however, lists 19 to 23 February. This later period conflicts with the confirmed carnival weekend and is therefore not used. An explicit funfair announcement for 2027 is still pending.

Carnavalskermis Ninove 2027 in the city centre

During carnival, the Graanmarkt, Twijndersplein and areas along the Oude Kaai are transformed into a funfair site. The city of Ninove explicitly describes these areas in its funfair regulations. Carnival and the funfair in Ninove are also closely linked. 2026, the fair began on the Friday before the major Sunday parade and ended the following Tuesday. The local carnival association confirms that the major parade 2027 takes place on Sunday, 14 February. This gives the five-day period used here.

Rides, activities for children and specialities

For edition 2026, around forty rides and market stalls were reported. These included faster rides, children’s carousels, games stalls, as well as stalls selling fairground treats and hot food. However, the exact line-up of rides for edition 2027 is not yet available. The rides from that edition are therefore not automatically listed as confirmed attractions. Families can look forward to the typical Foor concept, but specific rides will only be listed once current showman reports have been received. The title image is expressly an illustrative image of its own, not a current photo of the funfair.

Carnavalskermis Ninove 2027: Opening times

Opening hours have not yet been published. The official funfair announcement from 2026 mentioned an opening on Friday evening, but no further exact closing times for 2027 have yet been confirmed. We are therefore deliberately not showing a speculative daily schedule. The exact date will also only be definitively confirmed once the municipality issues a separate 2027 funfair announcement. Please expect possible restrictions around the carnival processions and check the latest arrangements for the procession route and traffic before your visit.

Carnival parade on 14 February 2027

Carnaval Nienof, with its parades and festive events, shapes the funfair weekend. The grand carnival parade is scheduled for Sunday, 14 February 2027. It passes through various streets in the city centre and is a separate event. Its route and traffic arrangements may affect access to Graanmarkt. Funfair opening times should therefore not be inferred from the parade schedule. Further programme items and details of a specific opening ceremony for the funfair will be added only after official publication.

Free entry and travel

Access to the public funfair site is usually free, but individual rides, games, food and drinks incur a charge. You can walk to the centre from Ninove station. Roads may be closed and stops relocated because of the carnival procession. The City of Ninove publishes the funfair regulations. The official carnival committee provides information about the festival days. Find more dates in our funfair calendar.
