What to expect

The Michaelis-Kirchweih Fürth 2027 takes place from Saturday, 2 October to Wednesday, 13 October 2027. The City of Fürth explicitly confirms these twelve festival days. In the city centre, a traditional fair, a large market and rides come together to create a special fair experience. The event stretches across many streets and squares. Admission is free, but individual rides, purchases and food cost extra.

Michaelis-Kirchweih Fürth 2027: Twelve days in the city centre

The Fürther Kärwa is considered one of Bavaria’s most traditional street fairs. The organiser describes it as a cultural landmark of the city; it is also listed in Bavaria’s register of intangible cultural heritage. Unlike an enclosed fairground, rides and stalls are spread from Fürther Freiheit along central streets and into the historic city centre. You can explore different areas on foot and combine your visit with a shopping trip.

Rides, market traders and food

Michaelis-Kirchweih combines modern rides with children’s carousels, games and numerous market traders. In addition to typical food stalls, craft and retail stalls are part of the event’s character. However, the line-up of rides for October 2027 has not yet been fully announced. For this reason, attractions named in previous years are not automatically listed as participants in this edition. An old photo also does not prove that a ride will be there again.

Michaelis-Kirchweih Fürth 2027: Opening hours and admission

The tourist information office lists the opening hours for 2027 by day of the week. According to the listing, the market is open longer in the morning from Monday to Saturday than on Sundays and public holidays; the exact times are shown in the structured timetable. The city’s Kirchweih website currently shows a different daily schedule for 2026. You should therefore check for any short-notice special arrangements for 2027 before visiting. Access to the public fairground is free.

Harvest festival parade and other programme highlights

The colourful harvest festival parade, featuring music associations, traditional costume groups and decorated floats, is a highlight of the fair. The traditions also include the opening, family activities and other cultural events. However, the city’s current announcement contains a discrepancy between the stated day of the week and the calendar date of the parade. We therefore have not yet listed it as a confirmed programme event for 2027. The final up-to-date daily schedule is still awaited.

Getting there, finding your way and further information

Fürther Freiheit is a good starting point for your walk around the fair. The underground and rail services also make it easy to get there: Fürth Hauptbahnhof and Rathaus stations are close to the event area. Bus routes and street layouts may change during the fair and parades. You can find the latest information on the official City of Fürth website. Discover more fairs in Bavaria in our fair calendar.
