Platzer Kirmes 2027: Moitzfeld is expected to celebrate its popular village funfair again from Friday, 2 July, to Sunday, 4 July 2027. The Dorfgemeinschaft Moitzfeld has set the first weekend in July after Peter and Paul as its regular annual event date. A separate programme for 2027 has not yet been published. The dates have therefore been calculated using the official annual rule.
Platzer Kirmes 2027: Venue and atmosphere
The fair takes place on the village square at Rotdornweg. The association deliberately holds the open-air fair without a large festival tent. Instead, families and neighbours meet directly on the fairground. The short distances and friendly atmosphere are part of the concept. The fair is also a regular meeting place for former residents and visitors from the surrounding area. The village community organises the set-up on its own village square every year.
Rides and showmen
The association describes the fairground as having modern attractions. Previous editions featured smaller carousels and fairground games. The choice is manageable and family-friendly, especially for children. There is not yet a confirmed list of rides for 2027. Therefore, no individual carousels or specific operators are shown as booked. Rides from previous years cannot automatically be assumed to return either.
Food and drink and an outing experience
The volunteers prepare traditional specialities, including homemade potato pancakes, grilled dishes and other hearty food. Drinks are available at the association's stalls. On Sunday, homemade cakes and coffee traditionally round off the offering. The village community highlights its moderate prices and the event's charitable purpose. You can meet friends, enjoy a meal together and stroll through the fair's few lanes.

Tradition and highlights
After a break during the war and post-war period, Platzer Kirmes was revived in 1976. The village community has maintained this tradition ever since. A special ritual is the election of the Moitzfeld fair queen on Sunday. However, no exact time or further programme details have yet been announced for 4 July 2027. Any musical performances also still need to be confirmed.
