Luzern – Lozärner Määs 2027

The Lozärner Määs 2027 is provisionally scheduled to run from Saturday, 2 October, to Sunday, 17 October 2027. The Lucerne autumn fair traditionally takes place over 16 days in early October; the event has officially been announced for 2027 through the showmen's application process, but the exact dates have not yet been confirmed. From Inseli via Europaplatz to Bahnhofplatz, you can expect a Luna-Park, Waren-Määs and autumn specialities on Lake Lucerne. Admission is free.

Lozärner Määs 2027: Fairground right by Lake Lucerne

The popular autumn fair spans three neighbouring areas in Luzern. You can find the first rides at Bahnhofplatz. A Ferris wheel is usually set up in front of the Culture and Congress Centre at Europaplatz. Inseli has room for many more attractions, the Waren-Määs and food stalls. This means you can move between thrilling rides, relaxed market lanes and views of the lake. In 2026, the City of Luzern reported around 450’000 expected visitors; this is not a forecast for 2027.

Luna-Park, Waren-Määs and Luzern specialities

The Waren-Määs draws visitors with wooden huts, regional products and other market stalls. The Luna-Park usually offers children's carousels, faster rides and skill games. Magenbrot, roasted chestnuts and other specialities are also part of the atmosphere. The official page for the 2026 edition listed numerous rides and games as well as market stalls. However, no definitive line-up of rides for 2027 has been published yet. These descriptions therefore do not represent a current line-up of rides. Lozärner Määs 2027: Opening times

Opening times are provisional, as of 2026. For the Luna-Park, the city gives an opening time of 10 o'clock on the first day, 11 to 22 o'clock from Sunday to Thursday, and 11 to 23 o'clock on Fridays and Saturdays. On the final Sunday, the Luna-Park closed at 20.30 o'clock. The Waren-Määs was open daily from 10 to 19 o'clock, and only until 18 o'clock on the final Sunday. The structured timetable shows the Luna-Park. As the 2027 edition has not yet been published in detail, these times may change.

Opening and special events

Traditionally, the Lozärner Määs begins with the Eröffnungschlapf and a shower of ride tokens for visitors. In 2026, the opening took place on the first Saturday. However, there is no confirmed time or programme announcement yet for the new October date. Any family days or musical events will also be added only after a new announcement. The market and Luna-Park areas are generally accessible independently of individual special events. Allow plenty of time to explore the extensive areas between the station and the lakeside.

Admission, travel and official information

Access to the public fairground areas is free. Rides, games, goods and food are charged separately. The Määs is only a few minutes' walk from Luzern station, the bus stops and the boat landings. Travelling by train is therefore a particularly good option. There are multi-storey car parks in the city centre, but traffic can be heavy during the Määs.
