Willisau – Chilbi Willisau 2027

The Chilbi Willisau 2027 is expected to take place in the old town from Saturday, 16 October to Monday, 18 October 2027. The Kilbisonntag on 17 October is explicitly confirmed by the calendar of a local club. The city held the Chilbi from Saturday to Monday in 2026, which gives a provisional overall period for 2027. Rides, game stalls, club-run food stalls and the traditional Kilbimarkt make the fair a highlight of autumn in Willisau.

Chilbi Willisau 2027 in the historic old town

The Kilbi is also an important date in the annual life of Willisau in the canton of Lucerne. The event area stretches from Untertor via Rathausplatz to Zehntenplatz. The streets in between turn into a lively mix of funfair and market stalls. The city also confirmed that the event ran from 17 to 19 October 2026 in 2026. The Willisau Gymnastics Club has announced a Kilbistand on Sunday, 17 October 2027. So the new Saturday-to-Monday dates fit the usual pattern, but have not yet been officially confirmed as a whole.

Rides, game stalls and festival food stalls

The typical offering includes carousels, larger rides, prize wheels, tin-can shooting and food stalls. Local clubs also run their own food stalls and games during the Chilbi. In the evening especially, the old-town streets take on a special fairground atmosphere. The city also describes rides high above the ground and the varied market as regular features of the traditional Kilbi. However, the specific rides that will actually be in Willisau in 2027 have not yet been announced. For this reason, no individual showmen from 2026 are automatically listed for the new edition.

Chilbi Willisau 2027: opening hours

Opening hours have not yet been fully announced. In the official announcement for 2026, the Kilbi started at 14 on Saturday and ended on Monday evening. However, these are not the complete daily opening and closing times for individual rides in 2027. So the structured MEC schedule remains empty for now. Market traders, club-run food stalls and individual rides may also have different hours. Check the city's latest announcement before you travel. The confirmed club stall on 17 October alone does not confirm the opening hours of the entire Kilbi.

Kilbimontag and market stalls

In keeping with a long-standing Willisau tradition, Monday is set aside for the Kilbimarkt, including a machinery market. Market traders then present goods from various regions while the Chilbi rides continue to operate. In 2026, the Kilbimarkt was held on 19 October. The annual Sunday-and-Monday pattern suggests that in 2027 it will probably be on Monday, 18 October. A separate confirmation of this year's market stalls is still pending. Admission, getting there and parking

The public old town is generally accessible without an admission ticket during the Chilbi. Individual rides, games, goods and food stalls cost extra. You can walk from Willisau station to the event area. If you come by car, you should use car parks outside the closed-off old town.
