The art of blacksmithing and a living iron tradition
Friesoythe is known as the Iron City. This makes the festival different from a traditional funfair with rides alone. The 2026 event included a blacksmith's tent and demonstrations with hot iron. Visitors could see the metal being worked at close quarters. The existing cover photo also shows an authentic blacksmithing demonstration at the 2012 event. However, the programme for 2027 has yet to be announced.
