Juwel – Göbel
40-metre-high Ferris wheel with 30 gondolas
Operator: A + H Göbel (Worms)
Juwel Göbel Juwel by Göbel is a classic Ferris wheel where the focus is not on speed, but on the view across the funfair. As the gondolas slowly rise, the perspective of the surrounding rides and stalls changes. For families and visitors looking for a calmer attraction, a Ferris wheel offers a very different funfair experience from fast round rides.

Photos, dates and sources
When choosing photos, the former name Jupiter is a useful search term. However, not every photo of a Ferris wheel with the same name can be used as an image of this ride. Look at its specific design and documented operator history. Current appearances are listed in the respective line-ups of rides. You can find more profiles in the attraction directory. The technical details and previous owners are recorded at Ride-Index.

History of Juwel Göbel
The ride was formerly called Jupiter. According to Ride-Index, it was first operated by Kipp from Bonn and later by Kipp-Schmidt. It has only been known as Juwel since the later name change. This background is important when comparing historical photos. Several Ferris wheels may be operated within the same showman's family, so having the same operator name alone does not prove that they are the same ride.

Visitor tips
A clear day is just as good a time for a ride as the evening. During the day, you can make out more details of the surroundings; after dark, the illuminated fairground has a particularly atmospheric feel. If you are not comfortable with heights, consider beforehand whether a ride up to 40 metres would feel comfortable. You can find out the exact access rules and safety requirements directly from the operator. The ride is also a good way to start exploring the fairground from above. For the best view, check the weather before your visit.
