Oostende – Oktoberfoor 2026
What to expect
The Oktoberfoor 2026 brings a whole month of funfair atmosphere to Belgian Oostende from 9 October to 8 November. According to the city, 74 attractions await you across four squares in the city centre. So you can enjoy more than just one ride here and explore several funfair areas, from classic amusements to new rides.
Oktoberfoor 2026: four squares, 74 attractions
The autumn funfair is spread across Wapenplein, Groentemarkt, Mijnplein and Sint-Petrus- en -Paulusplein. This layout is part of the unique experience: instead of visiting one enclosed fairground, you can explore several locations in the city centre. The squares also offer different attractions, games and food and drink options. For 2026, the city specifically mentions 74 attractions. However, the official information reviewed does not provide a complete named line-up of showmen.
New rides and family-friendly attractions
The new attraction “Hurricane” is one of the eye-catching additions on Mijnplein. The city also announces “Little Jungle” there for younger visitors, along with a new ladder-based skill game. “Move It 32”, “Techno Power” and “Mario Ball Game” are appearing for the first time on Sint-Petrus- en -Paulusplein. So it is worth including the squares away from Wapenplein in your tour. You can also find food and drink stalls where you can take a break from the funfair.
Oktoberfoor 2026: opening times and special days
According to the city, the attractions open by 16 at the latest on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, and by 14 at the latest on Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays. Showmen may open earlier or stay open longer. During school holidays, the attractions stay open until at least 21 from Monday to Thursday. The city does not specify a standard daily closing time. Opening times may change in very bad weather. Our day-by-day overview therefore includes only the officially stated opening times.
A festive opening with entertainment was scheduled from 17 on Friday, 9 October, the opening day. On Tuesday, 20 October, a low-sensory funfair day with reduced light and noise was held from 16. For Saturday, 31 October, the city announces a Halloween theme with spooky decorations and related activities. To mark the closing day on Sunday, 8 November, discounts on various attractions are available for “Dag van de Lege Portemonnee”. Specific discounts may vary by ride.
What you should know about the city centre location
As Oktoberfoor stretches across several central squares, you can walk between the areas. The regular markets also move during the event: the Thursday and Saturday markets temporarily take place at Vindictivelaan, while the Sunday flower market moves to the corner of Wapenplein/Kapellestraat. Local parking restrictions apply there on market days. These changes particularly affect the city centre and should be taken into account when travelling to the event.
Tips for your funfair visit in Oostende
If you want to try the new rides, you could start at Mijnplein and then visit Sint-Petrus- en -Paulusplein. The different areas allow families to plan their tour around their interests. If you enjoy a Halloween atmosphere, keep 31 October in mind. If you are more interested in offers and discounts, the final day of the funfair could be particularly appealing. Ride prices have not been confirmed as standard rates and are listed by the operators on site.
