Take Off – Langenscheidt
HUSS classic with four gondolas and a steeply tilted disc
Operator: Familie Langenscheidt (Großefehn); Karl-Heinz and Andreas Langenscheidt are named as operators · since 1994
The Take Off by Langenscheidt is a rare HUSS classic dating from 1994. Four gondolas, each seating ten people, sit on a large rotating disc. As the disc turns, it also tilts progressively upwards. HUSS built only around eight rides of this model between 1993 and 1997.

Highlights & records
Large rotating disc with four additional gondolas; the disc tilts upwards during the ride.
Four gondolas circle on a large disc that keeps tilting upwards: Take Off delivers an intense spinning ride with several movements happening at once.
What it’s like to ride Take Off by Langenscheidt
You take a seat with other passengers in one of the four gondolas. At the start, the large disc is still flat. Once the ride begins, several movements combine: the disc rotates, the gondolas spin and the whole unit tilts. This constantly changes your view, sometimes towards the fairground and sometimes towards the sky. The ride becomes particularly intense when the disc is steeply tilted. The forces then seem to come from ever-changing directions. At times, for example, the ground seems almost to rise towards you before your gondola swings upwards again.

Take Off by Langenscheidt: history and technology
The ride was built by HUSS in Bremen in 1994. Since then, it has travelled with the Langenscheidt showman family from Großefehn in East Frisia; Karl-Heinz and Andreas Langenscheidt are named as operators. Take Off has therefore remained with the same family since it was delivered. It has 40 seats, and the assembled ride has a diameter of around 22 metres.
Incidentally, Karl-Heinz Langenscheidt previously travelled with a very different attraction: he owned a Zierer Flitzer from 1990 to 1993, which now travels as High Explosive with Vorlop. Take Off is announced for the Hamburger Winterdom 2026. You can find more spinning rides in our overview of attractions, and current dates in the funfair calendar..

Who is Take Off suitable for?
Take Off is a thrill ride for teenagers and adults who enjoy spinning. If you’re unsure, watch a complete ride from outside first. The best view is from a spot in front of the façade, where you can see exactly how the platform rises. Check the height and accompaniment rules at the ticket office. In the evening, the lights add to the funfair atmosphere.
