Super Hopser – Marlon Weihs
Höpler swing ride with a shared circular bench and plenty of momentum
Operator: Marlon Weihs (Stelle-Wittenwurth)
The Super Hopser Weihs operated by Marlon Weihs is a travelling swing ride made by Höpler. Its passengers do not sit in separate gondolas, but on a shared circular bench. The ride’s movement comes from a rotating platform and a distinct up-and-down motion. This makes the Hopser a distinctive example of a classic circular ride. Its open design stands out on the fairground.

The entire bench swings and spins together – Weihs’s Super Hopser thrives on its rhythm and the experience of riding with other passengers.
What riding Super Hopser Weihs feels like
When you board, you find a seat on the circular bench. During the ride, the entire seat ring moves together: it spins, rising and falling in a changing rhythm. Unlike Break Dance, there are no individually swinging gondolas. Instead, all passengers experience the same basic motion. Your position on the bench, combined with the spinning and bouncing, makes the ride lively.
The special appeal lies in this shared experience. You can see the other passengers and follow their reactions directly. As the platform changes rhythm, the ride creates a lively, almost dance-like feeling. The design is also easy to understand from the outside: the bench moves as one, while spectators around the ride watch its changing motions.

History of the Höpler swing ride
The ride was built by Höpler in 1981, making it one of the longest-running travelling swing rides. Ride-Index lists Fehlauer from Lübeck as an earlier operator. Today, Super Hopser is operated by Marlon Weihs from Stelle-Wittenwurth. This history of its construction and operators matters because the name “Super Hopser” has also been used for other rides over the years.
It is particularly easy to confuse it with the later “Bavaria Dance” or “Gaudi Hopser” operated by Thalkofer. This is a different Höpler ride, built in 1979, which also travelled under the name Super-Hopser for a time. Today’s Super Hopser Weihs, by contrast, is the ride built in 1981. That is why, when it comes to historic fairground rides, the name on the front is not the only thing that matters. The specific history of its construction and operators is also important.

Who is Super Hopser Weihs suitable for?
The Hopser appeals to visitors who enjoy a lively circular ride and prefer sitting together rather than in an enclosed gondola. The ride focuses on rotation and vertical swinging rather than great heights or inversions. Even so, the repeated motion can feel quite intense. If you are sensitive to spinning rides, bear that in mind.
A distinctive part of the experience is the open seating arrangement: you are right in the middle of the action, hear the music and see the reactions all around you. You can find out the current riding requirements directly at the ride. You can find more classic circular rides in our attractions overview.
