Pacific Rim – Groß
KMG Discovery 2.0 with a changing operator and name history
Operator: Groß (Werder)
Pacific Rim Groß Pacific Rim by Groß is a ride for anyone who enjoys unexpected movements. The ride is a Discovery 2.0 model made by the Dutch manufacturer KMG. Unlike a traditional waltzer, its appeal does not lie in a steady circuit. The movement changes during the ride, creating an intense experience. If you are sensitive to quick changes of direction, watch a full cycle before getting on.

Pacific Rim uses changing rotational movements rather than sheer height—an intense ride on a compact footprint.
Photos, dates and sources
For photos, choose a spot where you can see the entire front and the ride's movement area. Always stay behind the barriers. Check the current location against a line-up of rides for the relevant event year rather than relying on old tour lists. Find more profiles under Attractions. The history and technology of Pacific Rim Groß
The story behind the name is also interesting. The ride originally travelled under the name Tsunami. Ride-Index lists Otten from the Netherlands as an early operator, from September 2015 to 2018, followed by Zinnecker in 2019. Since its renaming, Pacific Rim has been the name in common use. Such name changes matter when identifying a ride: not every ride that was once called Tsunami is automatically the same attraction.

Tips for your visit
When you visit, it is worth watching the rhythm of the ride first. From the outside, you can clearly see how the gondola movements combine with the overall movement. If you mainly prefer gentle family rides, this attraction is probably not your first choice. The safety rules and staff instructions displayed at the entrance always take priority over general information online.
