Musik Shop – Rasch
Traditional Musik-Express from Versmold
Operator: Klaus Rasch & Söhne (Versmold)
The Musik Shop Rasch is one of the classic roller coaster-style rides found at German funfairs. You sit in one of the gondolas as they travel around a wavy circular track. Music, speed and changing heights shape the experience. Instead of big loop-the-loops or extreme heights, you can expect a lively ride that gets its character above all from its rhythm. This ride, operated by the Rasch family from Versmold, has a long history and is associated with familiar fairground memories for many visitors.

- Family-friendly
Music, the wind in your face and the distinctive up-and-down motion make this a classic.
Musik Shop Rasch: The ride experience
As the ride starts, the train gains speed and repeatedly passes through the track’s higher and lower sections. This creates a regular up-and-down motion. The gondolas follow the circular track while the music sets the pace. Part of the appeal comes from being close to the other passengers. If you like classic fairground rides, Musik Shop offers a much livelier experience than a slow children's carousel, without feeling like a roller coaster.

History and special features of Musik Shop Rasch
The well-known Musik Shop operated by Klaus Rasch & Söhne is listed as a Cosmont Musik-Express built in 1981. Its 20 gondolas offer a total of 40 seats. The ride is said to require an area of around 18 by 17 metres and a power connection of 80 kilowatts. An earlier caterpillar ride also plays an important role in the family history. However, accounts of how this tradition began do not automatically prove that every earlier ride was the same one. The existing Musik Shop should therefore be carefully distinguished from a new ride announced for 2027.

Who is the attraction suitable for?
If you want to ride, it is worth watching the ride in operation. The intensity may depend on the ride programme and accompanying music. On a roller coaster-style ride, the curves and repeated changes in height can feel more pronounced than they look from the outside. Check the minimum height, accompanying adult requirements and fare directly at the entrance. These details may change and should not be taken from another Musik-Express. If you are sensitive to longer rides in circles, take that into account before boarding.
Tips for your visit
The hills on the Musik Shop Rasch's circular track are easy to see from the side. For photos, choose a spot where you can see the entire façade and several gondolas. Details of the structure are easier to make out in daylight. In the evening, the lighting stands out more. If you are interested in the history of travelling Musik-Express rides, you can find more examples in the attraction overview. The future of the existing ride and its next locations should always be checked against the operator's latest information.
