What it’s like to ride Musik Express Kinzler
Passengers sit in gondolas that travel along a wave-shaped circular track. As the track turns, the ride goes up and down in turn. The movement pushes you sideways into your seat on the bends before the direction changes again. This up-and-down motion is what sets Musik Express apart from an ordinary carousel that travels on a flat circular track.
The ride is not about spectacular inversions, but about speed, music and the way the gondolas move together. What is especially exciting is how the wave-shaped track makes the ride feel faster. You see the other cars coming towards you again and again, then disappearing on the opposite side moments later. History of Musik Express Kinzler
The ride that still travels today was built by Mack in 1970. It followed an earlier Musik Express operated by Kinzler, which had already been travelling since the late 1960s and was later sold to the USA. The histories of these two rides should therefore not be confused: the ride described here is the later one, which is still in operation.
The operator structure has also changed over time. Current official line-up of rides lists show Kinzler Musikexpress KG, which has been registered in the commercial register since 2023. Josef Schoeneseifen is listed as an authorised partner. This explains why Musik Express is sometimes referred to by both names. Timeline
The Mack roller coaster still in operation today was built in 1970 and replaced the first Kinzler Musikexpress from 1967, which was sold to the USA in 1970. Kinzler Musikexpress KG has been registered since May 2023; Josef Schoeneseifen is its authorised partner.
