Highlights & records

Balloon gondolas with a gentle ride at height; according to Ride-Index, the ride reaches about 8,5 m.

A little adventure at height, designed especially for families to enjoy together.

What makes Montgolfière Goetzke special

The ride is a Samba Tower model by the Italian manufacturer Zamperla. The balloon theme is more than just decoration: the individual gondolas make the ride feel like a little journey over the funfair. Ride-Index gives the flight height as around eight and a half metres, while the overall structure is taller. This makes the experience appealing even to visitors who do not want to ride large drop towers or roller coasters. The view of the surrounding carousels is particularly lovely once they are lit up.

What a ride on Montgolfière Goetzke is like

You climb into one of the colourful balloon gondolas and are slowly lifted off the ground. As the carousel moves, your view of the fairground changes. The motion is more floating than fast. Children in particular get the feeling of travelling in a little balloon of their own. The ride is also appealing to accompanying adults, as the gondolas are designed for shared rides. The operator determines how many people may ride together when you board; there is no reliably documented general capacity.

History and tips

Ballonfahrt was built in 2000 and, according to the ride database, made its debut at Herbstdult in Regensburg. For many years, it travelled under Achim and Martina Zarnikau. The Goetzke family later took over the ride. This is important when comparing older photos or tour schedules: they may show the same ride under a different operator. It’s best to plan your ride without rushing. Especially with small children, a calm start is more pleasant than suddenly switching from a very fast ride. You can find more guest appearances in the Kirmeskalender.

Who is the balloon ride suitable for?

The Montgolfière is especially suitable for families looking for a shared experience with a manageable level of intensity. Children who are not yet ready for fast-spinning rides can get their first experience of a ride at height here. However, the ride is not automatically open to all ages. Check the minimum height, accompaniment rules and staff guidance displayed at the ride. If your child is sensitive to heights, it is worth watching a full circuit from outside first.
