What it is like to ride Invader by Marvin Dreßen
You sit with another person in one of the 16 open gondolas. Once the ride starts, the main rotation picks up speed while the gondolas swing freely as well. This constantly changes your orientation, so no two rides are alike. Fog, fire and strobe effects accompany the ride. That is why Invader feels like a little science-fiction show, especially in the evening. The illuminated sign also makes it easy to spot the ride again at any fairground.

Invader by Marvin Dreßen: history and technology
Invader is operated by the showman Marvin Dreßen from Mönchengladbach. It was built by SAD Maschinenbau in Germany. According to industry sources, the ride uses components from a former Break Dance, but its technology and design have been developed further independently. Its premiere was originally planned for Sterkrader Fronleichnamskirmes, but was postponed because the design took longer. According to a ride database, its official premiere followed on 17 July 2026 at Rheinkirmes in Düsseldorf.
In autumn 2026, Invader was at the Kasernenareal of Basel Autumn Fair. You can find more spinning rides in our attraction overview, and current dates in the funfair calendar.

Who is Invader suitable for?
Invader is a thrill ride for teenagers and adults who enjoy fast spins. If you are sensitive to spinning, watch a full cycle first. The rules on minimum height and accompaniment are displayed at the ride. For photos, the illuminated façade is particularly worth seeing in the evening, when the lights and effects look their best.
