Hot Snow combines the wave-like rhythm of a classic wavy ride with the atmosphere of a Musik-Express – a piece of living funfair history.
What it's like to ride the wavy ride
On Hot Snow, you sit in the typical cars of a wavy ride. The ride repeatedly rises and falls in waves as the cars follow the circular track. This creates a mix of curves and changing heights. Unlike a roller coaster, it has no long track with unexpected turns: the fun comes from the speed, rhythm and atmosphere of the ride.
The ride is especially enjoyable with a group. As the train goes round, you can share the movement and music with your fellow riders. If you want to get a feel for the ride beforehand, you can quickly see from outside how the cars travel over the waves. This also makes the ride easy for spectators to follow. At an evening fair, Hot Snow is one of those rides where the atmosphere around the track is an important part of the experience.

The history of Langenscheidt's Hot Snow
The ride was built by Mack in Germany in 1973. Ride-Index lists Zimmer of Koblenz as its operator during the first decades. From 2002 to 2010, the ride travelled with Wunderle-Engelhardt of Nuremberg. Karl-Heinz Langenscheidt of Aurich then took over the wavy ride. These different stages make Hot Snow an example of how a ride can remain a fixture at fairs across several generations and regions.
The database explicitly classifies Hot Snow as a two-column music express. Its design and documented operating history help identify this exact ride. With Music Express rides, similar façades and names are no proof that they are the same ride. This is the Mack classic from Langenscheidt, whose history dates back to the early 1970s.

Who is Hot Snow suitable for?
Hot Snow is interesting for visitors who enjoy classic round rides and are looking for a lively but easy-to-follow ride. Fans of historic Musik-Express rides will immediately recognise the characteristic undulating track. If you are with friends, you can ride together rather than sitting in separate small gondolas. Check the age and height restrictions displayed at the ride before boarding.
The Mack design is a lovely contrast to modern high rides. While these focus on extreme heights or inversions, Hot Snow is all about the traditional hills-and-valleys principle. If you would like to discover more classics, you can find them in our ride directory. This lets you compare Hot Snow with other Musik-Express rides without confusing the different physical rides.
