A pendulum ride that combines height with rotating gondolas.

What a ride on Hip Hop Fly Lagerin is like

As the ride starts, the long arm gradually builds up momentum. At the same time, the group of gondolas at the lower end rotates. This means your view, acceleration and sense of height keep changing. The highest point feels different from the first swing because the seats do not keep facing the same direction. The open seats let you feel the wind and take in your surroundings directly. The colourful lighting makes the ride stand out, especially after dark, but even during the day you can clearly see the movement and structure.

History and features of Hip Hop Fly Lagerin

The ride is an Afterburner made by the Dutch manufacturer KMG. It was built in 2000 and has 24 seats in six gondolas. This travelling version is described as having a maximum height of approximately 25 metres. The technical details about its year of construction and equipment apply to this ride, not to all Afterburners currently in operation. Before Lagerin, the ride travelled under Wendler-Deinert and later under Jürgen Noack. It therefore has a long history with German showmen and is not a newly built model that happens to share the same name.

Who is the ride suitable for?

If you are planning your first ride, watch a complete cycle from the outside first. This will help you judge whether you enjoy pendulum movements and additional spinning. The ride may feel more intense than its height alone suggests. Bear this in mind if you are prone to dizziness. Check the current requirements for minimum height, age and accompaniment at the ride itself; safety information like this does not automatically apply to every Afterburner.

Tips for your visit

With Hip Hop Fly Lagerin, it is worth watching the direction in which the gondolas move. For photos, choose a spot to the side where you can follow the full swing. In the evening, the lighting provides a different subject, while daylight shows the gondolas and the long arm more clearly. It is also worth looking at the overview of other rides. The manufacturer’s information about the Afterburner explains the basic ride movement; this travelling ride may differ in specific ways.
