High Impress – Louis Oberschelp
Fabbri Contact with rotating motion
Operator: Louis Oberschelp (Kassel)
High Impress Oberschelp is a travelling spinning ride of the Contact type by the Italian manufacturer Fabbri. The ride was built in 2003 and has had several operators over the years. Its strength lies not in a long track, but in the movement it creates over a relatively compact area. This puts it in the category of action-packed spinning rides found at many traditional funfair sites.

What to expect
A roundabout ride that puts speed and changing movements centre stage.
What to expect on High Impress Oberschelp
The Contact ride concept centres on rotating motion. Riders experience repeated acceleration and changing views as the ride runs through its programme. Unlike a roller coaster, its dynamics do not come from drops and bends in the track. The combination of circular motion and changing orientation shapes the experience.
According to documented technical details, High Impress is around twelve metres tall. At the fairground, the ride stands out above all for its movement and design. The duration of a single ride and the speed reached depend on how it is operated; there are no reliable figures that apply consistently.

History and background
The ride's history began in 2003 under the name High Energy, operated by Ordelman in the Netherlands. It later belonged to Burghard and Frank Oberschelp, among others. Current directories name Louis Oberschelp of Kassel as the operator. The different names and operators explain why older photo archives use different names.
When identifying the ride at events, the name on the façade is not the only thing to look at. Checking the showman's name and the year it was built can help you distinguish it from other Contact rides. Confirmed current appearances are linked separately through the event listing.

Who is High Impress Oberschelp suitable for?
Watch a ride before getting on. This lets you see how the gondolas move and decide whether the intensity suits you. Follow the instructions when getting on and off, and stow loose items. Although the ride does not reach the height of a drop tower, its repeated rotation can be quite noticeable.
For visitors who already enjoy Break Dance and similar classics, High Impress can be an interesting alternative. If you are very sensitive to spinning movements, however, you should take care. The operator sets any minimum height, age requirements and prices on site.
