Happy Traveller – Wolter
Happy Traveller – a funfair classic and its features
Operator: Gack e.K. / Aaron Wolter (Bonn)
Happy Traveller is a ride with its own history and a clearly recognisable design. On Happy Traveller, the large disc moves in a circle while the small passenger gondolas spin as well. Together with the music and the wind in your face, this creates the familiar Break Dance feeling. As your own gondola is not always aligned in the same way, the sequences of movement differ from one round to the next. The appeal lies particularly in the combination of the exterior design and the way the ride moves. You can already see from the fairground how this attraction differs from the other rides on offer.

Special features and construction
The HUSS ride was built in 1985 and is part of the first Break Dance series. 16 gondolas each offer two seats. Its diameter is approximately 20 metres. It made its debut in 1986 in Bremerhaven, followed by decades under the name Gack and, today, Aaron Wolter.
The design determines not only the ride experience, but also the effort involved in transporting and setting it up at different event venues. That is why attractions like these are an important part of travelling showman culture.

Happy Traveller: the ride experience and what to expect
On Happy Traveller, the large disc moves in a circle while the small passenger gondolas also spin. Together with the music and the wind in your face, this creates the typical Break Dance feeling. As your gondola is not always facing the same way, the sequence of movements changes from one ride to the next.
Watching a full ride helps you assess its movement. The lighting and the view across the fairground also shape the impression: after dark, many classic fairground rides look quite different from how they do in the afternoon.

Who is the attraction suitable for?
If you like dynamic rides, you’ll find a typical classic from the eighties here. However, the many simultaneous spinning movements are not for everyone’s stomach. Read the health and height restrictions before you ride.
You can find more rides in this category in the attractions overview. You can find out about the applicable access requirements directly at the ride.
