Happy Family – Heine
Five levels full of obstacles and sliding fun
Operator: Karlheinz Heine KG (Bremen) · since 2011
Happy Family by Karlheinz Heine KG from Bremen is a multi-storey funhouse where you choose your own route through moving obstacles, unusual floors and slides. Instead of waiting for a ride with a seat belt, you walk from one station to the next at your own pace. The funhouse has been one of the best-known family attractions at German fairs for many years and stands out in particular for its large, walk-through façade.

Highlights & records
Walk-through funhouse with several levels, moving obstacles and a slide; the Bremer Freimarkt describes it as having five levels of games.
Happy Family turns a funfair visit into an interactive obstacle course: your own route through the obstacles shapes the experience.
Experience Happy Family
It is clear from the entrance that Happy Family is not a conventional ride. The course stretches across several levels that you explore on foot. Ordinary paths alternate with wobbly and moving elements. You have to keep your balance, watch your next step and sometimes work out for yourself how to get past an obstacle. This hands-on experience is what sets the attraction apart from a ride with a fixed programme.
Wobbly floors, various obstacles and a slide are among its defining features. The changing sequence is part of the fun: you can start cautiously and then take on the next surprise. The layout across several levels also means you cannot take in the whole course at a glance. This keeps the route to the exit varied.
Discover Happy Family at the fair
The Bremer Freimarkt explicitly describes the walk-through attraction as a fun course on five levels. That sums up its character well: the focus is not on the adrenaline rush of a drop tower, but on a combination of movement, surprises and a little skill. If you are visiting with children, check the age and accompaniment rules before entering. And if you are with a group, making your way through the obstacles can quickly become a shared experience.

The history of Happy Family and operator Heine
The walk-through attraction was built in 1999 by the Italian manufacturer Barbisan. It initially travelled with Hamburg showman Hans-Werner Rüth. Since 2011, the attraction has belonged to Karlheinz Heine KG from Bremen. This operator history is important because this profile describes the attraction currently operated by Heine, not another funhouse with similar obstacles.
With its multi-storey construction, Happy Family is a striking example of a classic walk-through attraction. Its documented total height is 13 metres. Its impressive frontage also makes it a landmark on the fairground from the outside. The design is aimed not only at children but also at visitors of different ages looking for a shared, hands-on experience.

Who is the ride suitable for?
Happy Family is particularly suited to families, groups and visitors who enjoy getting involved. As you walk through the attraction, the experience does not depend on high speeds. However, you should be able to move safely on moving surfaces. The official Freimarkt website says visitors can take part from the age of eight; younger children can visit the walk-through attraction accompanied by an adult. Follow the staff's instructions and check the access arrangements on site.
The concept makes it a fun choice for a visit to the fair together: while other attractions take their riders through a fixed programme in just a few minutes, here the funny moments come from your own reactions to the obstacles. If you enjoy slides and trying out an obstacle course, you will find a different kind of funfair experience here than on bumper cars or a Ferris wheel.
