Disco Jet combines the energy of a classic wavy track ride with music and a lively showman's history.
What it’s like to ride Disco Jet Saussaz
The cars follow one another around a wavy circular track. During the ride, passengers move between higher and lower sections of the track. This creates an up-and-down motion that feels different from a flat carousel. The music and announcements from the ride also create the typical atmosphere of a Musik-Express.
When the ride runs faster, the curves and hills work together. The fun comes not from a single loop, but from the combination of speed, the wavy track and the view of the other cars. The ride is also easy to see from outside: watching the cars move in a line is already part of the fairground visit.

History of Disco Jet Saussaz
The ride today is a Musik-Express made by the Italian manufacturer Cosmont in 1979. For a long time, this Disco Jet travelled with the German showman Arno Heitmann in Münster. Ride-Index records its operating period there as 1979 to 2021. When Heitmann put a new Disco Jet made by Bertazzon into operation in 2021, the existing Cosmont ride was sold to Switzerland.
Dean Saussaz now presents Disco Jet. The older ride's story thus continues under a different operator. One important distinction: the Bertazzon Musik-Express operated by Heitmann since 2021 is a different, newer ride, even though it has the same name. Disco Jet Saussaz, by contrast, is the long-familiar Cosmont design.

Operator and fair appearance
The official Basler Herbstmesse lists Dean Saussaz as the operator and shows Disco Jet at Münsterplatz. This location pairs the ride with the special setting of Basel's old town. The colourful circular track stands out among historic buildings, other carousels and the Herbstmesse stalls.
If you’re looking for this ride at Basler Herbstmesse, look for the name Disco Jet and Münsterplatz. You can find other current appearances in Kirmestermine.eu’s attractions overview, as soon as the relevant events are linked to the ride.
Who is Disco Jet Saussaz for?
The ride is particularly appealing to visitors who enjoy classic, fast circular rides. As the cars move along the same track, you experience the music and the movement of the ride as one continuous sequence. The Musik-Express is also an interesting choice for families with older children, provided they meet the entry conditions displayed at the ride.
Disco Jet is not a modern high-thrill tower, but a traditional attraction focused on speed, music and riding together. After dark, the illuminated ride is one of the striking sights at an autumn fair.
