Dance Jumper – Leuthard
Smashing Jump with twelve arms and 24 ride programmes
Operator: Mike Leuthard / Showman Leuthard (Stetten, Switzerland) · since 2025
The Dance Jumper by Leuthard brings movement in every direction to the fairground. Twelve arms, each with a two-seat gondola, rotate around the centre while bouncing up and down. This creates a mix of bouncing, swinging and spinning that you won’t find on classic carousels.

This is what riding Leuthard's Dance Jumper is like
You take a seat in a gondola with another person. As soon as the ride begins, the arms rise and lower while the attraction continues to rotate. This alternates brief moments of floating with powerful swings. A total of 24 ride programmes are available, so the rhythm varies from ride to ride. A colourful backdrop, along with fire, fog and lighting effects, also creates a real show atmosphere.

Leuthard's Dance Jumper: History and Technology
The ride was built in 2020 by the Italian manufacturer Fabbri, and the model is called Smashing Jump. However, due to the pandemic, its premiere did not take place until July 2021 in Best, the Netherlands. The ride then travelled with Ruitenberg-Sipkema to funfair sites in the Netherlands and Germany. After the 2024 season, Swiss showman Mike Leuthard from Stetten bought the Dance Jumper.
With the façade and platform, the ride requires around 21 by 19 metres; a more compact version without a platform is also available for smaller sites. It takes about two days to set up, and the power requirement is 190 kilowatts. In autumn 2026, the Dance Jumper will be at the Basler Herbstmesse. You can find more rides in our overview of attractions and current dates in the funfair calendar.
Timeline
Built in 2020, but due to the pandemic it only began operating in 2021 in Best (Netherlands). Ruitenberg-Sipkema until the end of 2024, then sold to Leuthard.

Who is the Dance Jumper suitable for?
The Dance Jumper is a lively spinning ride that is fun for older children and families too. If you do not cope well with rapid changes of direction, it is best to watch a ride cycle from the outside first. You can find the current rules on minimum height and supervision at the ticket booth. It is also worth watching from the side in the evening, as that is when the light displays on the back wall are most striking.
