Operator: Jack Wetzel (Switzerland) · since 2011
The Break Dance by Wetzel is a HUSS Break Dance No. 1 built in 1994, now travelling with Swiss showman Jack Wetzel. Four spinning hubs, each with four two-seat gondolas, move around a large rotating platform. The gondolas also spin freely around their own axes, so no two rides feel the same.

Highlights & records
HUSS Break Dance No. 1 with 32 seats; exact ride identity established using serial number 80 441.
A classic HUSS Break Dance with a Swiss history: fast spins, a light-covered façade and the unmistakable movement of the freely rotating gondolas.
What riding Break Dance by Wetzel is like
You sit in a gondola with another person and are secured by a restraint bar. The large platform then starts moving while the spinning hubs turn in the opposite direction. The gondolas also swing freely, so your direction of view keeps changing. One moment you swing outwards, the next you get a brief, calmer section. For example, your gondola may spin around several times in a row while the neighbouring gondola barely moves.
Lights and music are an integral part of Break Dance. That is why the ride feels like a little show, especially in the evening.

Break Dance by Wetzel: history and technology
The ride was built by HUSS in 1994 and bears serial number 80 441. It initially travelled in Sweden, including with Skoghs Tivoli and later Axels Nöjesfält. Since 2011, it has been operated by Jack Wetzel in Switzerland. With 32 seats and dimensions of around 21 by 21 metres, it is a typical example of the first generation of Break Dance rides.
Jack Wetzel has also operated a second Break Dance since 2008, which previously ran at the English theme park Alton Towers, among other places. The serial number helps distinguish the two rides. In autumn 2026, Break Dance No. 1 was at the Basler Herbstmesse. You can find more classics in our attractions overview and current dates in the funfair calendar.

Who is the Break Dance suitable for?
The Break Dance has no inversions, but the spinning is intense. If you handle fast spins well, this is the ride for you. If you are sensitive to them, watch a full ride cycle first. The current rules on minimum height and accompaniment are posted at the ticket office. For photos, a spot in front of the façade is ideal, as you can see the entire platform from there.
