St. Gallen – St. Galler Autumn Fair 2027

The St. Galler Herbstjahrmarkt 2027 is expected to take place from Thursday, 14 October, to Sunday, 24 October 2027. OLMA has officially announced its exhibition dates for this period. The city’s autumn fair traditionally takes place at the same time; however, the city of St. Gallen has not yet confirmed the dates for 2027. Fairground stalls, rides and game booths await you on Jägerstrasse, between Blumenaupärkli and the OLMA entrance.

St. Galler autumn fair 2027 on Jägerstrasse

Traditionally, the city's autumn fair spans several areas west of the OLMA main entrance. These include Blumenaupärkli and areas along Jägerstrasse. The city police also organised around 2026 market stalls and 39 attractions there for 205. These figures apply exclusively to the previous edition. This makes the event a separate, publicly accessible fair and it should not be confused with a paid admission ticket to OLMA. For visitors, the combination of a market, rides and the parallel trade fair is a special autumn tradition.

Rides, children's attractions and market stalls

The 2026 edition featured both larger rides and walking attractions, as well as game and shooting stalls. The attractions listed at the time also included a Ferris wheel and a tall free-fall tower. There were also stalls selling everyday goods, snacks and sweets. This gives an idea of the typical profile of the autumn fair, but not its specific line-up of rides 2027. St. Galler Autumn Fair 2027: Opening hours

Opening hours are provisional, as of 2026. The attractions opened from Monday to Thursday from 11 to 22, on Fridays from 11 to 22.30, on Saturdays from 10 to 22.30 and on Sundays from 10 to 22. On the final Sunday, the entire event closed at 19. These rules are stored in the compact MEC schedule, with the final Sunday listed separately. The market stalls, however, had different opening hours, usually from 10 to 20. The city still needs to confirm the schedule for edition 2027.

Autumn fair and OLMA: two different offerings

OLMA, on the other hand, is the Swiss fair for agriculture and food. Its date, which has already been confirmed, is 14 to 24 October 2027. The autumn fair traditionally complements the exhibition in the public outdoor area, but is organised separately by the city. You normally need an admission ticket to visit the OLMA halls. By contrast, you can enter the fairground areas without a general admission ticket. The opening hours of the exhibition halls are also not necessarily the same as those of the showground attractions. This distinction is important when planning your trip.

Admission, bus and travel to St. Gallen

The autumn fair along Jägerstrasse is open to the public and generally free of charge. Individual rides, games and food cost extra. You can reach the area by train or bus via St. Gallen-St. Fiden, or from the main station on city routes towards OLMA. The city explicitly recommends travelling by public transport. Drivers can use car parks in the city centre, but a parking space directly at the fair is not guaranteed. The City of St. Gallen provides the latest information.
