Chilbi Kreuzlingen 2027: Dates and fair

The Chilbi Kreuzlingen 2027 is expected to operate at Bärenplatz from Saturday, 23 October, to Monday, 25 October 2027. The city of Kreuzlingen has already officially announced the traditional market for Monday, 25 October 2027. The Chilbi traditionally starts on the Saturday and Sunday afternoons beforehand. The three-day period for the funfair area is therefore based on this confirmed annual pattern, but the ride operating times for 2027 have not yet been published.

Bärenplatz as the centre of the fair

Classic funfair rides and game stalls set up on Bärenplatz during the fair weekend. The site is in the centre of Kreuzlingen in the canton of Thurgau. On Monday, the market also spreads along Hauptstrasse, Boulevard and the neighbouring streets. This makes it easy to combine a visit to the rides with a stroll through the market lanes. The exact layout for 2027 has not yet been finalised, so we cannot present previous locations as confirmed.

Rides and the tradition of historic showmen

For October 2026, the city reported, among other things, a Swing-Up, a Kamikaze ride, the Alpenblitz roller coaster, bumper cars and children's carousels. These attractions were part of the previous year's report and have not yet been confirmed for October 2027. They are therefore not listed here as part of the current line-up of rides. According to the city, the Müller-Baer family has been connected with Kreuzlingen's Chilbi for generations. The tradition dates back to a swing ride from 1937. Further information about the showmen is usually released before the event.

Market stalls and colourful attractions

On the main market day, Monday, numerous stalls selling goods, food and handicrafts are set up in the centre. For the 2026 edition, the city described around 300 exhibitors. This figure gives an idea of the event and is not a commitment for 2027. There are also typical Chilbi treats such as roasted almonds, game stalls and small snacks. Families can combine a visit to the market stalls with time in the amusement area. Opening hours for the market and rides may differ.

Chilbi Kreuzlingen 2027: admission and opening hours

Bärenplatz and the market lanes are usually open to the public free of charge. You pay separately for rides, games, food and shopping. A separate ride plan for 2027 is not yet available. For the market, the city gave opening hours of 10 until at least 19 on Monday in the previous edition. These confirmed figures from the previous year are therefore included in the schedule only as provisional guidance for Monday; no exact closing time is given for Saturday or Sunday. Admission to the public area is marked as free.

Getting there, road closures and latest information

Kreuzlingen is right on the border with Konstanz. You can reach the city centre by train and local bus services. During the 2026 edition, the city centre was closed to through traffic and the bus route around Bärenplatz was diverted. The exact closure times for 2027 have yet to be announced.
