The Chilbi Mendrisio 2027 is listed here as the amusement area of the traditional Fiera di San Martino. This edition is expected to run from Wednesday, 10 November, to Sunday, 14 November 2027. The city of Mendrisio has not yet published an official date range for 2027. In 2026, the Fiera di San Martino ran from 11 to 15 November. The Wednesday-to-Sunday period selected is therefore only a cautious estimate around St Martin's Day on 11 November.

Prati di San Martino as the event venue

The historic Fiera takes place on the Prati di San Martino, in the area around the old Church of San Martino. It brings together a market, food stalls, local agriculture and an amusement area with rides. This means the event should not be mistaken for a purely mobile amusement park. The lively atmosphere is part of Mendrisio’s local tradition in the canton of Ticino. Depending on the edition, market stalls, animal areas and amusement rides are spread across the festival grounds. Rides and family activities

As part of the Fiera, the city specifically mentions Giostre, meaning carousels and other rides. There are also activities for families and children, as well as demonstrations in the agricultural area. However, the existence of an amusement area does not tell us which individual showmen and rides will take part in November 2027. All ride details by name therefore remain unconfirmed for now. Market, specialities and history

According to the city, the tradition dates back to 1684. Originally, the Fiera was an important meeting place for agriculture and regional trade. Today, you can still find handicrafts, cheese, cured meats, honey, chestnuts and sweet specialities there. Animal exhibitions and other agricultural offerings also recall its historical roots. In late autumn in particular, the smells from the stalls and the food and drink area create a special atmosphere. Which food vendors and exhibitions will take part in 2027 will only be decided later.

Chilbi Mendrisio 2027: Admission and opening hours

At an open-air city market, the Fiera’s open areas are usually accessible without a general admission ticket, although individual rides, food and goods may cost extra. Separate admission arrangements for 2027 have not yet been confirmed. As a provisional guide, the official fair opening times 2026 have been mapped to the corresponding days of the week: Wednesday and Thursday, 09 to 24; Friday and Saturday, 09 to 01; and Sunday, 09 to 18. It still needs to be confirmed whether the organiser 2027 will use the same times.

Getting there and official information

Mendrisio is in Ticino and can be reached by train via Mendrisio station. From there, you can reach the festival area on the Prati di San Martino by local public transport or on foot. Access roads and parking areas may be temporarily restricted during the Fiera. Confirmed traffic arrangements for November 2027 are not yet available.
