Henrichenburger Dorfkirmes 2027: From Friday, 21 May, to Sunday, 23 May 2027, Castrop-Rauxel invites you to the traditional village festival with funfair in Henrichenburg. The city of Castrop-Rauxel has already officially announced these dates. Particularly important: the village funfair takes place on the weekend after Pentecost, not on the Pentecost weekend from 14 to 16 May.
Henrichenburger Dorfkirmes 2027 at Gemeindeplatz
The festival area extends around Gemeindeplatz, near Sankt-Lambertuskirche, and along part of Freiheitstraße. For three days, Henrichenburg’s town centre becomes a meeting place for families, neighbours and funfair fans. The village funfair is also one of Castrop-Rauxel’s traditional events, while the large spring and autumn funfairs take place in the old town of Castrop.
The city describes Henrichenburger Dorfkirmes as a traditional fair with a history of more than 450 years. Its character comes from the combination of a family-friendly atmosphere, funfair and village festival.
Rides and family fun
The official description of the 2026 edition mentioned around 25 attractions. These included bumper cars, a nostalgic swing ride, a wiper ride, children’s carousels and skill games. Alongside the rides, food and drink stalls offered spiral potatoes, crêpes, ice cream and savoury dishes. These attractions were listed for 2026 and are therefore not automatically confirmed for 2027.
A village funfair also offers the chance to enjoy a relaxed visit without having to walk far. While children enjoy the carousels, adults can browse the stalls and watch the stage programme. Which individual showmen will be there in 2027 is not yet known.

The event is officially taking place from 21 to 23 May 2027. The city has not yet published daily opening times for the 2027 funfair. The schedule therefore initially shows the official times from the previous year, 2026: Friday and Saturday, 14 to 22; Sunday, 11 to 20. These opening times are provisional, as of 2026. Any current announcement by the city takes precedence.
Village festival, stage and special highlights
Since 2025, the village funfair has been complemented by a village festival with a stage programme. In 2026, music, dance performances, children’s activities and local groups provided plenty of variety. A flea market was also held in the nearby car park on Sunday. The city has already announced a varied stage programme for 2027, but has not yet published specific performances or times. No performers from the previous year are therefore presented as having been booked again.
Admission and getting to Henrichenburg
Based on past practice, admission to the public funfair site is free. Rides, games and food and drink are charged separately. You can get there via Henrichenburger Straße (B 235) and Freiheitstraße, among other routes. Expect road closures and changes to bus routes during set-up and the event.
