Blomberg – Wilbaser Markt 2027
What to expect
Wilbaser Markt 2027: Expected to take place in Blomberg-Siebenhöfen again from Friday, 10 September to Monday, 13 September 2027. The Lippe district names the second Friday in September as the fixed start date of this four-day event. This gives the dates for 2027. Additional official confirmation for the year, together with a list of rides, is still pending. The fair is also one of the best-known funfairs in the region. The Lippe district organises the market itself.
Wilbaser Markt 2027: Fairground and atmosphere
Wilbaser Kirmes is held on the large fairground on Wilbaser Straße. The site is right next to the 1 federal road near Blomberg-Siebenhöfen, outside the town centre. In addition, Lippe district organises the market under its own responsibility, making it the only German district administration to do so. The site should therefore not be confused with Blomberg’s market square in the old town. If you want to visit Wilbasen, make sure you head for the fairground on the B1.
Rides and showmen
According to the Lippe district, Wilbasen usually features around 200 showmen and market traders. Visitors can also enjoy rides for different age groups, game stalls and numerous sales stalls. New attractions and a youth area were announced in the previous year, 2026. These are not automatically confirmed for 2027. A definitive list of new rides is still pending. We therefore do not currently list any businesses from the previous year as new participants.
Food and family activities
Alongside the rides, the market offers food and drink as well as traditional market goods. People from across Lippe and neighbouring regions traditionally meet here. The mix of fairground attractions, food and funfair is also appealing to families. Your visit could be anything from a relaxed stroll to a longer evening at the fairground. The market stalls are also an integral part of the market, and some have different opening times from the rides.
Wilbaser Markt 2027: Dates and opening times
The Lippe district's official regular market opening times are provisionally listed for the 2027 edition. They are based on the times published in 2026 and general information from the organiser. However, some of the stated closing times are the latest permitted operating times. Market traders have their own earlier closing times. Opening times are provisional, as of 2026. The later announcements from the district for 2027 are definitive.
Tradition and highlights
The history of Wilbaser Markt goes back at least to 1430. At that time, income from the funfair was mentioned in a monastery book. Traditionally, the district administrator opens the market on Friday with a ceremonial keg tapping. The festival weekend then begins. The fair ends on Monday with a large fireworks display. In 2026, the Lippe district also offered a family activity day and a supervised youth area. Whether and when individual programme items will take place in 2027 will be announced later.
