Baarer Chilbi 2027: date after St Martin's Day

The municipality of Baar holds the Chilbi on the weekend after St Martin’s Day. St Martin’s Day falls on 11 November every year. In 2027, this is a Thursday. This means the three days of the Chilbi are from 13 to 15 November 2027. Saturday and Sunday are part of the Chilbi celebrations; Monday is also traditionally a Chilbi day. The date was calculated using the official annual rule. A separate announcement for the year with the final programme is still to come.

Fair around Marktgasse

The Chilbi takes place in Baar village centre. According to information from the municipality, the rides are located around the Marktgasse school building. The market stalls traditionally add to the festival on Sunday and Monday. There are also stalls, food and drink, and local offerings. An official site plan for 2027 has not yet been published. We therefore use Marktgasse as a guide and cannot guarantee that the stall layout will remain unchanged.

Rides and market stalls

The Baarer Chilbi combines a funfair with a market. Previous editions featured rides for different age groups. Numerous food stalls were also set up. The market offers a different selection from the rides. Which businesses will be there in November 2027 is still unknown. The line-up of rides can be added once the new plan is available. Participants in previous years are not automatically participants in the next edition.

Baarer Chilbi 2027: Admission and opening times

Entry to the public Chilbi site is listed as free. Rides, games and refreshments may cost money, however. Specific prices for the 2027 edition have not been published. Opening hours have not yet been published. The municipality lists different operating hours for the three days of 2026. These times do not automatically apply to 2027. The list of new opening hours will only be added once a current official notice has been issued.

Getting to the centre of Baar

The village centre is particularly lively during the Chilbi. In previous years, the local authorities temporarily closed Dorfstrasse and Rathausstrasse. Some bus stops were also relocated. It has not yet been decided whether these arrangements will apply in exactly the same way in 2027. We therefore recommend checking your travel plans for the latest information before your visit. Use Baar station as a reference point for public transport and follow the official guidance.

Tradition on the St Martin's weekend

The Chilbi is one of the traditional events held in Baar in November. Its scheduling rule makes it easy to plan ahead. The market stalls also take place around the Chilbi.
