Weggis – Weggis village fair 2027

The Dorfchilbi Weggis 2027 is expected to take place on Sunday, 17 October 2027. This date follows the third Sunday in October, when the Dorfchilbi also took place in 2026. An independent confirmation from the organiser for 2027 is still pending. At Schulhausplatz Sigristhofstatt and Dorfplatz, you can normally enjoy a relaxed village fair with market stalls, games and food and drink stalls. General admission was free for the 2026 edition.

Dorfchilbi Weggis 2027 at the village square

Weggis lies on Lake Lucerne below the Rigi and is part of the canton of Lucerne. The village fair is a local family event held at the Sigristhofstatt school grounds. The venue is also known as Dorfplatz Weggis. Various clubs and market stalls come together during the fair. The regional tourism organisation published the 2026 edition for 18 October 2026. The corresponding third Sunday in October falls on 17 October 2027. Therefore, the new date is a plausible plan, but it is not yet a confirmed date from the organisers.

Carousels, games of chance and local specialities

The Weggiser Dorfchilbi combines funfair attractions with market stalls, games and food. The catering area under the arcade and in the foyer also offers space for a relaxing visit. Typical funfair attractions are a particular draw for children. However, which specific rides, showmen and market stalls will actually be there for 2027 has not yet been announced. We therefore do not list individual attractions from previous editions as confirmed participants. Dorfchilbi Weggis 2027: Opening hours

Opening hours are provisional, as of 2026. The regional event notice lists the funfair as running from 13 to 17 on the Sunday in question. These full-day hours have been included in the MEC schedule as a guide. However, there is no new explicit confirmation for Sunday, 17 October 2027. Please note that the festival catering and individual market stalls may have different opening hours. If you are planning a longer trip, check the latest announcement from the municipality or tourist office.

Admission and distinction from the Sennenchilbi

General admission to the Dorfchilbi was expressly free of charge 2026. However, there may be charges for games, individual rides, food and drinks. It is particularly important to distinguish it from the Sennenchilbi Weggis: this is organised by the Sennengesellschaft, follows a multi-year cycle and took place in November 2026. It is therefore not the same event as the Dorfchilbi in October. The programme of club activities and entertainment for the new Dorfchilbi still needs to be announced separately for 2027.

Getting there by boat, bus and car

Weggis can be reached by boat across Lake Lucerne and by regional bus services. Schulhausplatz Sigristhofstatt is in the village centre, with Dorfplatz serving as a landmark.
