Freckenhorster Autumn 2027 in Warendorf town centre
Every October, the Freckenhorster Werbegemeinschaft organises its well-known autumn festival. According to the Town of Warendorf, the flea market stretches for around two kilometres. Around 700 stalls usually take part. Funfair rides at Stiftsmarkt
The town specifically names Stiftsmarkt as the location of the Freckenhorst funfair. There, changing showmen provide variety with carousels and other rides. Traditional game stalls and food and drink are also part of the festival. The rides that will actually be set up from 9 to 11 October 2027 are not yet known. Freckenhorster Autumn 2027: funfair opening times
The Town of Warendorf's service portal lists set operating times for the funfair at Freckenhorster Autumn: Saturdays from 15 to 21, Sundays from 12 to 21 and Mondays from 15 to 21. These times are recorded in the MEC schedule for the funfair area. However, the flea market stalls are not automatically covered by these times. For the flea market, the organiser published different times for 2026, which applied only to the market stalls that year.
Flea market and Sunday trading
Hundreds of flea market traders traditionally fill the streets on Saturday and Sunday. Visitors can look for household goods, books, decorations and unusual finds. For the 2026 edition, the stalls were open on Saturdays from 9 to 18 and on Sundays from 10 to 18. Updated times for 2027 have not yet been confirmed. By contrast, shops are officially permitted to open on Sunday, 10 October 2027, from 13 to 18 under a town ordinance. This is shop opening, not additional funfair operating time.
Stage programme, clubs and Monday as family day
Freckenhorster Autumn 2026 featured an autoscooter-soccer cup, live music and a Holland market. Local clubs also contributed to the festival mile. These individual activities have not yet been confirmed for 2027. The Town of Warendorf explicitly describes the Monday covered by its funfair rules as a family day, with special offers from the showmen. This may make 11 October particularly suitable for a visit with children. However, prices and offers for that day have not yet been confirmed.
Admission, travel and parking
Access to the Freckenhorst festival and funfair mile is free, according to past practice. You pay for individual carousel rides, goods and refreshments. The funfair area is at Stiftsmarkt in 48231 Warendorf-Freckenhorst. For 2026, the town announced extensive road closures in the town centre.
