Fleur's two-row Top Spin Fresh gondola swings and rotates between two mighty arms – a classic of the French funfair scene.
A look at the Foire Saint-Romain
The city of Rouen also mentions Top Spin Fresh in its event information for the Foire Saint-Romain 2026. This places the ride alongside other classic and modern large rides typical of French fairs. A photo by kirmesfanmopohl from Lille 2025 shows Fleur's Top Spin Fresh from the outside. You can clearly follow the movements of the platform and the two arms in it.
How Top Spin Fresh Fleur rides
Passengers take their seats in two long rows and are secured with shoulder restraints. Two side arms then lift the gondola off the ground. The gondola can also rotate around its own axis. This creates moments when you face forwards, then lie backwards and shortly afterwards look upside down over the fairground.
The experience is quite different from a roller coaster: there is no long track and no conventional bends. Instead, the sequence is shaped by the swinging motion of the arms, the gondola's rotation and the alternation between acceleration and brief pauses. From the outside, you can follow how the large passenger platform is guided between the two arms.

History of the French Huss classic
The ride was built by Huss in Germany in 1991. Emmanuel Fleur is recorded as the operator. French specialist directories list Top Spin Fresh under his management and name the Foire du Trône, the Foire Saint-Romain and the Fête des Loges as typical stops. A specialist overview of the Huss Top Spin type explicitly distinguishes the French Fleur ride from another Top Spin operated in Germany later under the same name.
The two rides are therefore not identical. For the French example, specialist literature gives a capacity of 40 people per ride. The two rows of seats are part of this Huss model's distinctive design. The year it was built and its operator are key details when comparing historical photos or reports about different Top Spin rides.

Top Spin Fresh Fleur: who is the ride for?
Top Spin appeals especially to visitors who enjoy repeated overhead movements. The changing views and unobstructed view of the fairground create a different experience from the steady rotation of a Ferris wheel. You can also watch the whole ride from the viewing area and get a sense of its sequence of movements before taking a ride yourself.
Participation is subject to the safety conditions displayed at the ride. With a Top Spin, the restraints and seating position are an important part of the ride experience.
