Experience Villa Wahnsinn by von Olnhausen

At the villa, your route takes you through two walk-through floors. Sometimes the floor is not as solid as it looks; sometimes a reflective surface puts your sense of direction to the test. Well-known features include a glass maze, moving barrels and spinning platforms. There are also other obstacles where agility and balance matter more than bravery at great heights. The combination means you cannot always see the next surprise from the outside.

The house thrives on variety. One section challenges your balance, while another plays with your perception. Especially with friends, making your way through the villa becomes a shared adventure of discovery: one person finds the passage straight away, while the next first has to figure out which way to go in front of a mirrored wall. Because you walk through each section, the experience differs from a fixed ride cycle.

The history of Villa Wahnsinn by von Olnhausen

Villa Wahnsinn premiered on 16 May 2014 at Sprödentalkirmes in Krefeld. From the outset, the concept was designed as a large, varied world of experiences. The von Olnhausen showman family opted for striking design and a wide range of different obstacles spread across several levels. Early reports already highlighted the glass sections, moving floors and lighting as defining features.

Since its premiere, the villa has appeared at various German fairs. It represents a type of attraction that is often underestimated on the fairground alongside the big rides: funhouses are not a passive ride, but a little adventure that you experience step by step. You can find more houses, mazes and rides in our attraction guide.

Who is the mad villa for?

If you prefer actively trying things out at a funfair rather than just watching, Villa Wahnsinn is a great stop. The funhouse focuses on movement, humour and surprises rather than a single spectacular moment. Groups and families in particular can have a laugh together, as the reactions of the other visitors are often just as entertaining as the obstacles themselves.

At the same time, you should know that the course includes moving floors and orientation games. Some sections may be challenging for visitors who are unsteady on their feet. You can find out directly at the ticket office what rules apply to children and accompanying adults. Even if you already know mirror mazes, combining one with the other sections gives you a different take on classic funfair entertainment.
